MACON, Ga. (WGXA) -- After the disappearance of her brother just over two weeks ago, a Macon woman is taking her search on the road.

Marlo Rumplik has been hitting the streets with giant magnetic flyers on her car, hoping that someone sees the photo of her brother and calls the number featured on the flyers, the number for the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

The Rumplik family drove up and down Napier Avenue with bullhorns in hand, and searched in abandoned houses for him.
Rumplik's younger sister, Marlo, said she feels like the sheriff's department isn't "Taking the case serious because of the perception that he's just another drug addict".

According to Marlo, Rumplik was just passing through Macon heading to FL when he broke down. He stayed and has been renting a place on Courtland. His landlord found his door open and said the scene looked suspicious and contacted the family. She says since being here, he had been beaten and had things stolen.

Poor guy, sad situation. People can be so mean -- why did someone beat him and steel some of his things? SMH.
Prayers for him and for those who love him.

This is terrible.

MACON, Ga. (WGXA)- Authorities made an unsettling and grisly discovery inside a Macon house late Friday night. They recovered a decomposing body hidden inside the home's chimney.

Macon-Bibb investigators have not confirmed the body's identity.

However, the homeowner, Mike Hammett, told WGXA News that he believes it to be the remains of Anthony Rumplik, a man who has been missing from Macon since Dec. 28.

The coroner has confirmed that the body is his.

Due to the condition of the body, Coroner Leon Jones believes the man had been dead for several weeks.

On Saturday morning, Jones was able to identify the man as Anthony Rumplik, who had been missing since late December.

I’m not sure I have this right. He was located in the chimney of the home where he was staying at the time? This is so tragic. May he rest in peace.

I just want to credit his sister, Marlo. She worked so hard to find him.

"If anything, this is a cry for help for law enforcement because this needs to be prevented in the future," Todd said.

Todd posted a YouTube video about the investigation into Rumplik's death. He said he doesn't believe the Bibb County Sheriff's Office has been thorough.

"Even though we didn't think it was a homicide, we still searched the entire residence," Todd said. "We did everything we possibly could to determine that there was no foul play, but I didn't get that feeling."

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office confirmed they did not search the home where Rumplik died. They said that's because Rumplik was being treated as a missing person.

Todd said Rumplik had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and had an episode in November. He said he believes the sheriff's office used Rumplik's history to jump to conclusions.

"I got a very dismissive this has happened in the past. He did this again, that's what's happened…sorry," Todd said.
