mpDetails
Birdie Lucille Thomas Leonard – The Charley Project
The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

Her picture on all the sites is the same small black and white, unfortunately.
It's not good for hair color, because it almost looks a dark blonde in the picture. And can't tell if that's smudging or what that may be creating the look of a cleft chin.

I do like her as a potential match.
Obviously I like the fact that Birdie and the UID have matching abdominal scars. Add to that, right height, right age, green eyes, wide set eyes with long eye brows, and thin lips.
And maybe "Jesus" was her pimp out of Texas, since Birdie seems to have a number of alias'.

I agree this is a potential match. Our UID has a pronounced chin that's harder to make out due to the overexposure of the lighting in the picture. She looks like she may have a slight cleft or at least a dimple in her chin (My chin looks very similar to the UID's chin). Since we don't know how pronounced Birdie's chin is without more information, I think it's a good potential match.

Denise Ordene (Stark) Fraley - similar height and weight, has a nose that looks like the UID's. Hair might be too dark but it's hard to tell with the pictures provided. Her 'details of disappearance' are CRAZY! Spousal abuse, husband filed for divorce, was a drug courier, wanted by the Mafia for stealing money?? Her story is wild enough that I can see how she could have ended up in UID's circumstances, and she lived about a day's drive away from Atlanta.

I also think Denise is a potential match.

I am new to web sleuthing and for the past few days keep getting stuck on her! With such a random tattoo, having that apostrophe, I thought would be unique enough to help identify her...super disappointing to find that even with that she still hasn't been id'ed

Denise Fraley really looks like her.

I have been looking at this Jane Doe for years now: I think she may have been a sex worker to be honest. Some pimps make their girls get either a brand or tattoo to signify who owns them. So “Jesus” May have been her pimp.

If you look at the post mortem picture on Namus (The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)), she doesn't look nearly as middle-aged and schoolmarmish as the reconstruction makes her seem. She must have been quite an attractive woman.

This girl looks VERY familiar to me!

ETA: Not likely, as it doesn’t quite fit with the style of the other letters, but could this be a “T” instead of a “J”? Just a thought.

So "Tesus' "? Is that a name?

:p Not one that I’ve heard of.

Never mind. Dyslexic me with my bad vision thought you said the first letter was a T. But you mean Iesus? Which would just be an alternate spelling of Jesus, no?

Either one. I think it most likely says Jesus, but with those few letters, it’s sometimes hard for me distinguish between them. Kind of like a cursive “F” and “T” in that font can look similar. It was just a thought, albeit not a great one. At first glance, I thought there could be a space between JE_SUS’ but that’s just how the “S” looks next to an “E” vs a “U”. So I thought of a different language, like “je t'aime”, where the “'” represents something entirely different. I guess maybe it was wishful thinking; that this wasn’t a brand :(

Carla Roberson / UID recreation *seen in earlier post

Is there a possibility that this unidentified woman is not 30-40, but younger? Perhaps 24-25?

Carla Roberson, 19
DOB: July 10, 1964
DLC: May 10, 1984
Santa Rosa Island, Escambia County, FL
5' 2" (match), 130 lbs
Blonde/Strawberry or Red hair (match)
Green eyes (match)

Circumstances of Disappearance:
Roberson was last seen in Escambia County, Florida on May 10, 1984. She left her aunt's Pensacola, Florida home to read and sunbathe alone at the beach at Fort Pickens, which is located on the Gulf Islands National Seashore on West Santa Rosa Island, Florida. She promised to be back by 5:00 or 5:30 p.m., but she never returned and has never been heard from again.

Her vehicle and purse were discovered abandoned at the entrance of Fort Pickens shortly after her disappearance. Her towel, pocketbook and shoes belongings were found on the beach, and one set of footprints leading to the water.

Roberson lived in Montgomery, Alabama at the time of her disappearance. She had a part-time job at a doctor's office and had just completed her sophomore year at Huntingdon College. She went to Florida to spend a few weeks with her aunt and uncle before returning home to start the summer term at college.

Authorities believe Roberson may have drowned, but they have also looked into the possibility of foul play in her case. Her disappearance remains unsolved.

PS... The UID's weight of 105 lbs., is only a mere 5 lbs. from being underweight.

When I first looked at it way back when, I thought it might have said Je Suis, French for I am, but there's nothing that looks like an I, either.

Mr. Carbuff suggested that the text is oriented so it would read upright to someone facing her, and thought maybe she had it so it would display while she was handing cash across a counter, putting down drinks or plates, or something like that. Low key proselytizing.

They do like quite similar! Carla could have easily been abducted and held for that long by a captor named Jesus. Her stats all line up... I compared her photo with the PM of the UID, I noticed the receding hair line is even similar. I think it’s worth submitting! (IMO)

Ahah! Yes, Mr. Carbuff makes a good point! I hadn’t thought about its orientation. I doubt that it occurred by happenstance in this case...

It would probably also have been easier for the tattoo to be completed oriented the way it is, I would imagine.

Thanks MadMcGoo!

Hahaha...Got an update. Response from investigator was "good find", and then proceeded to ask me do I work in LE or Missing Persons organization.
Rather left with the impression that because I'm just a nosey amateur sleuther, that I was wasting his time.
Oh well...

You can tell so much from an agency’s reaction to your response to “Who do you work for?!??”! lol Drives me crazy sometimes! At least you got a response though and they have the info! I call that a successful submission! Now we wait...
