GA GA - Atlanta, WhtMale 1029UMGA, 50-70, w/ photo of young girl, Dec'80

  • #281
I came across this photo of this child on TheDoeNetwork and didn't know where else to post this..

The picture of the little girl was found in the wallet of unknown male remains.

This was in Atlanta Georgia, Fulton County on 12/19/1980.

The victim was located near a construction site at Northside Parkway and I-75 in Atlanta, Georgia on December 19, 1980.

Among his possessions were numerous fragmented pieces of paper and a photograph of a young girl who appears to have brown eyes, reddish hair, and about 4 years of age (see photo). Another faded photograph had handwriting which read "HR Bow dyeing and finishing, 278-3448". Fragments of a handwritten letter addressed to "Dear Dad" was signed "with love from Pam T Dwight" or "Pam + Dwight." Also found was a bus ticket, possibly originating in Panama City, Florida. The writing was faded and mostly illegible.

Possible match added to NAMUS today - Walker 'Popeye' Bruce, missing out of Nashville, TN.

His thread

It'll take a better family tree sleuth than me!
Could Walker Bruce have had a daughter named Pam (Pamela) and a granddaughter?

1029UMGA / Fulton County John Doe was wearing gray work pants and shirt when found in December 1980. WB was last seen by his daughter in Nashville, Tenn in January 1980 wearing blue work pants and blue work shirt.

Could blue eyes become gray eyes postmortem? Much else could match

Idk much about NAMUS or Doe, but what happens when a possible match is added (this one was reported added over 2 years ago)?

When I look on NAMUS, I don't see any possible matches (maybe because I don't know where to look?). If WB was excluded as a possible match, wouldn't it show him as an exclusion?

Seems this one would be possible to confirm or rule out, as there were (reportedly) sufficient remains for DNA testing (at one point I think @othram was inquiring).

All jmo

So many reasons why exclusions may not be listed - the LE haven't gotten around to adding the name, or they've hidden the full/part list from public view. Or maybe the person was originally ruled out by other means but LE decided to start again on their exclusion list with more advanced techniques like comparing DNA profiles.

This is obviously not exhaustive, but it appears that Walker Bruce's only child (and even this was disputed--her mother was married to another man at the time of her birth) was an illegitimate daughter, CJM. Obviously doesn't exclude a niece or some other loved one.

This woman is in a family tree in Ancestry where her father is listed as "unknown".
Pamela Sue Brown Rozplochowski (1949-2010) - Find...

Her daughters (deceased) didn't look terribly unlike the little girl.
Samantha Sue (Rozplochowski) Barstow - Breeze-Courier
Beverly J. “Jeannie” Rozplochowski Murphy...

There are some yearbooks from surrounding counties that have a James Brown (not an uncommon name in 1947) but there is no composite for this guy anywhere is there?

Just browsing this whole thread after finding out about this case on Facebook and it's irrelevant but it is incredibly odd that this woman's children all died so close together and at very young ages.

Hmmm. James Brown? I wonder if any of Pamela's daughters can be reached for comment and possibly shed some light on what happened to their grandfather. Is it just a name or is it possible to figure Mr. Brown's employment history? Was he known to frequent construction sites?

Had this tip been submitted to law enforcement? It might just crack this whole case open!

Oh It seems most of her children are dead except for one (forgive me if I'm reading the obituary wrong) Danielle Johnson?

I wonder if our doe was disfellowshipped from the Jehovah's Witnesses and that has something to with him not being identified? His family can't associate with him anymore... :(

Fulton County John Doe has been unidentified for 45 years today.

Hiya tracy87 and welcome! I think this is an excellent possible lead. Is your relationship with these folks such that you would be comfortable contacting them now?

I have looked into this case before and have a few thoughts. First, I didn't initially see the picture of the little girl. Her clothes look like something I would have worn when I was little. That would put the year in the late 60's or early 70's. This leads me to believe it may be the gentleman's daughter.

I spent a good deal of time looking for the HR Bow Dyeing and Finishing company. No success - but I did learn a LOT about the dyeing and finishing industry. Primarily - they make ribbons!

There are probably hundreds of older men on the missing boards who fit this UID's description. I think we need to find Pam and Dwight!

Maybe it was mis-read, or shortened.

1. The possible telephone number and company name were searched through several decades worth of business listings/licenses for the state of GA.
2. No, none of the case file, including photos, will be scanned for further review.
3. The plus symbol after "cat" is what was written in the letter - a plus symbol.
I think this is it:

Arrow Dye and Finishing
Address: 1411 May St., Dalton, GA 30720
Phone: 404-278-3448

Cat+, could be in reference to a cation.
