Heck we cant even get correct info on the status of the dog :banghead: I'm going with skewed reporting. For now.

Well, if this family is trying to scrape together $10,000, they have probably contacted everyone they know, including employers and church friends, etc. The word is going to get out....

Yes, it is msm and metro Atlanta, GA's major newspaper. They however, like many, get things wrong or lets say inaccurate at times. I know I have been mis quoted.

They still are more accurate than CNN most of the time! :floorlaugh:

It's a possibility. However, I see no reason why, if they have positive identification via fingerprints, they wouldn't just release their mug shots? Names? Ages?

I guess we could venture a guess that it is for Ayvani's safety, but these sketches would spook the suspects just as easily as their mug shots, wouldn't they? Especially if they were drawn from previous mug shots?

I don't know?

Unless LE is trying to keep the perps from knowing that LE knows who they are. If they already know...they wouldn't want to release names/mugshots for fear of the perps doing something to Ayvani. (that's my take on it anyway).

Such a week of tragedy. Please cant we get a good outcome :please:

I suspect the FBI/GBI are (at least trying to) control what information gets out so as not to jeopardize any hostage negotiations.

My own thought & fear is that this is not going to end well, but I hope I am wrong!

With all the LE involved, I doubt that the family would have to get the $10,000. Wouldn't that be if ransom was kept quiet?

The sketches were so good that I think they had their fingerprints and got their old mug shots and had the artist do the composit over the old photo adding the longer hair etc etc Just a thought!

Eileen730, we were discussing sketches on the Israel Keyes thread a couple days ago. Due to technology advancements, sketches of today are more like photos than the pencil sketches of the past.

Irony: The GBI forensic artist Kelly Lawson, is the daughter of GBI forensic artist Marla Lawson, who was instrumental in bringing many unknown suspects to Justice; Eric Rudolf; Olympic Park Bomber...

DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Give her some pencils and paper, and Marla Lawson will recreate the face of evil.

"This is my most famous sketch. Everybody has seen that sketch," said Lawson, a forensic artist with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.

The sketch is of Eric Rudolph, the Centennial Olympic Park bomber. It's the sketch that propelled Lawson to a 16-year career with the GBI. At the time, she was working at the Coweta County jail.

This is where I am a little skeptical. LE would NOT have this poor family scraping for donations to free this child. LE would front the money. I find it hard to believe that they would not insist on fronting the money so they can trace it (serial numbers, tracking device, dye pack, etc...). It's not like it's a million dollars. It's $10,000.00. Easy to photograph (serial numbers) and time is a huge factor.

If anyone reads where the suspects are located (Atl, an appt complex, somewhere else in GA or out of state) please post. Thanks

They have lots of "resources"; maybe could even add a strip chip for GPS,

I'm just going by the above news account where the father's sister said the family is trying to get the ransom money from somewhere, anywhere....because they don't have any money like that.

umm... this is the million dollar question, right? (10k? anyways...)

It would also show what these men look like now! compared to then!

I think the ransom thing is most likely factual and true. I also believe LE has told MSM NOT to report it, hence why we're not hearing about it anymore. I think the initial reports of it were leaks...due to her family not knowing what they're not supposed to be sharing with the media; pretty sure LE stopped the reporting of it. I do not believe her family would release something that was untrue. They want her found. It's not in Ayvani's best interest to have the news of ransom all over the place...methinks it was supposed to be kept private between captors and family (and LE)...not good.

Silence, is the GBI's investigative strategy/MO; a strategy that causes innocent victim's lives lost and mounting cold cases..

Sure Hope LE is not relying on the ole text ruse as a ransom demand by the abductors. This seems to be a strategy used often by predators, as of late, to buy time and deflect, while skipping town..

Now, if I was using my skeptical Websleuths-experienced mind to think this whole thing through, I could devise a scenario that goes something like this:

Someone in the victim's family made this scheme up with these perps so they could extort $10,000. But geez.....$10,000? Split 3 ways, this would be chump-change.

Does anyone think these thugs invaded the wrong home?

Are there any good leads on them? Thanks. (just starting to follow this)

Anything in the basement on this?
