So thankful we have a child found safe and returned home. Yeah!

This case appears to be thought up and run by some very dumb folks! The more I read, the more I scratch my head in disbelief. Something just does not sound right in this story!

In addition to the craziness of this story, add the fact the police did not have a search warrant for that big pot bust that the Mexican was involved in and how did he get deported and yet got back into the USA in less than one year?! This is shameful that such huge mistakes are made in law enforcement and the government!

My opinions, ideas, or thoughts are all mine.

RE: how did he get deported and yet got back into the USA in less than one year?!

1&2&3, There are at least three low-security prisons across the US that are owned and operated by a private corp; Corrections Corporation of America. Each prison holds approximately 2500 mostly undocumented immigrants, many of whom were charged for re-entering the United States after being deported..

Inmates riot in Mississippi prison, one guard killed

Coroner: 1 dead in Wilkinson Co. prison riot

(Reuters) - Inmates seized control of a privately owned prison in Mississippi on Sunday after riots broke out, and a guard was killed in the chaos in the low security facility, authorities said.

Adams County Coroner James Lee said the 23-year-old guard died of blunt trauma to the head during the riot at the Adams County Correctional Center, a privately owned prison that houses mostly illegal immigrants for the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

The Wilkinson County Correctional Facility is owned by Corrections Corporation of America--the same company that owns the Adams County Correctional Center. In 2012, there was a riot at the Adams County facility. One prison guard was killed in that incident.

I hope the undocumented suspects are actually housed somewhere this time. I'm a transplanted Arizonan now and can attest to how easy it must be to get across the border time and again. There was also an article last year in a Washington state paper of an undocumented guy who beat up his girlfriend in Washington, got deported. Came back the next year and did it again, got deported. Third time he killed her. No deportation that time. I do not think deportation is any kind of punishment for someone who has gotten back in again already.

FBI report details abduction of Clayton teen Ayvani Perez

ATLANTA -- The arrest warrant for one of the suspects in the Clayton County abduction of 14-year-old Ayvani Hope Perez has been released.

It gives details, of how she was taken, the discussion of ransom with the family and how the kidnappers released her.

Crazy! The warrant says the kidnappers and Ayvani jumped the privacy fence behind the house.

My biggest question right now is whose phone records did they pull?

From some of the articles today it is sounding a bit like mom was just in the wrong place wrong time when the big pot bust happened. That would explain why charges were immediately dismissed and the arrest expunged; the police quickly determined she shouldn't have been arrested at all. She apparently knew Rodriguez/Ramirez, but had no connection to the dope.

"Being at the wrong place at the wrong time" argument won't help you in a drug bust. They all say that. LE would have been monitoring the house for some time before the raid, so they would know who was really there "at the wrong place at the wrong time". The charges were dropped because LE messed up on the search warrant, so they couldn't use the evidence, hence no case.

Getting back to this case, if she knew at least one of the people involved through that previous drug-related connection, and considering the circumstances under which the abduction took place, my guess is that these guys showed up to collect on some debt she owed, and when they couldn't get any money/goods out of as payment, they took the kid instead. The dog would have been shot to impress on her how serious they were. She apparently had enough time and the forethought to get the kids hidden when these guys showed up, so it implies that she was expecting an unfriendly visit from someone.

LE are probably not getting the full story from her.

My biggest question right now is whose phone records did they pull?

I think that's explained in the arrest warrant. It's a bit hard to follow with the numbers blacked out but my understanding is that through interviewing a couple of people who's number was frequently called, it was determined that Wildrego Jackson was using the phone. The phone was owned by someone else though. I wonder if he thought blocking his number would make him untraceable? So dumb! Silly women renting cars and lending phones to him too

I think that Wildrego Jackson was driving the get away car, and the two guys they are looking for did the home invasion. I'm wondering if the acquaintance of the Mum was at Ayvani's Aunt's house where police recovered her, not involved in the kidnapping.

I really don't think this fits random crime scenario. The girl was dropped at her relative's. How did these suspects know where this relative lived? I suppose they could have asked the girl. But why did they drop her off to begin with? Did the family pay the ransom?
I've already said that I think the one suspect they arrested does fit the sketch they got of guy with short hair. Considering he was allegedly the one whose car was seen at the scene, why does police say the two actual kidnappers are still out there?

WSB-TV (@wsbtv) tweeted at 4:04 PM on Fri, Sep 20, 2013:
The family of #AyvaniPerez says the 14-year-old girl is doing better. Full story here: http://t.co/WRS3zgqivk #wsbtv

This article says the dog is dead???

Are there four perps?
If the two in custody, are not the two in the police sketches, what did the two in custody have to do with the home invasion and kidnapping-if anything?
The arrest warrant mentions kidnapping, but they did not commit the kidnapping?
Who gave police the info for the wanted posters?
My one relief is that perhaps she wasn't sexually assaulted? Did not see that on the warrant.

Anyone know info to clear my muddled brain? Tia

Your questions and one point of relief are all the same as mine...

I don't think that is the case at all. Charges against here immediately dropped and the arrest expunged. That says her arrest was a mistake. Charges against the men were dropped later.

I also don't think mom knew they were coming. If so why be home at all? Let alone in pajamas with the kids? I think they were targeted, no doubt, but I am not seeing any involvement by mom at this point. These idiot robbers took the girl to try to leverage money or drugs from mom. But she didn't have any to give. The kidnappers soon realized that taking the girl was a big mistake because now they were national news. The only smart thing they did was realize that the best thing was to release her unhurt. They would have asked the girl where to drop her off other than at home.

Good post, PrairieWind.. Kidnappings for ransom were almost extinct in the US a few years ago. It seems that they are becoming more common in some areas of the country.

Due to the tremendous amount of Law Enforcement resources, MS Media coverage and internet awareness created in Ayvani Hope Perez's abduction. The perps involved, imo, realized that they had become America's most wanted and had nowhere to hide. What seemed to be a good idea to make some easy money, turned into a nightmare for the perps.

Imo, Ayvani Hope Perez, is a very fortunate abduction victim. A few years ago, the response by Law Enforcement in GA was much different than today...

Kidnappers realized that there was too much attention on the girl, so they took her to her relative's house? Did anybody ever hear about something like that? She is a teenager, they could have dropped her off somewhere, yet they took her to aunt's house. If somebody here can name another kidnapping where kidnappers took victim to her/his relative's house, be my guest. I somehow doubt this was because they became concerned about too much attention on the case. And if they got nowhere to hide, why didn't police make the arrests yet? Where are the two in sketches that police claim are still out there?

my thoughts exactly..
why would the two in custody not give up the names of the two main offenders in the sketches?? maybe this is something bigger than two petty criminals trying to make a quick buck by kidnapping a young girl.

jjenny, it is possible that Ayvani was dropped off at her aunt's house due to it being a safe place close to her home, as opposed to a public place. Once the abduction victim is located safe, investigative resources would have been dramatically cut back, imo. The two suspects in the sketches will eventually be apprehended, imo..

This is a similar kidnapping for ransom that happened in Las Vegas, NV about a year ago that I had posted on this thread a few days ago.

Similar? People who kidnapped the girl in NV didn't return her to her relatives, and they knew the girls father. So it wasn't random. In this case, it appears we have very conscientious kidnappers, considering they dropped the victim off at her relative's house. But somehow, considering they allegedly killed the dog, them being so concerned about victim's well being doesn't jibe for me.

Kali I will try and answer some of your questions, keep in mind I am not an attorney.

W. Jackson is currently being held on charges of conspiracy to kidnapping. This means he was not one of the actual kidnappers, as far as we know, but was in on the plan of kidnapping.
C. Rodrigues is currently being held on U.S. immigration charges. At this time we don't know if he was in on the conspiring part.

LE has stated that the two, the ones in the sketches, are still at large. These two, we have been told, are the actual kidnappers.

We can assume that the mother gave LE the descriptions of the two men, on the wanted posters.

But how do you get such detailed sketches from masked men?
