I am, yes! And I fully agree with the rest of your post as well.

btw, for anyone who watches any youtubes of Houstons: On Our Own, please take note of the opening credits. You see a piano with framed photos atop, Whitney's being the largest and on-center. In the intros to the scenes, Whitney's photo is missing and the camera zooms-in to the photo of PH as the 'star'. UGH!

~jmo~

I caught the photo switch up as well. I hadn't watched On Our Own until last night when a poster had mentioned they were on youtube.
Heartbreaking when Bobbi Kristina was sobbing that her mother was her whole world and that she had tried to protect her and look out for her. I get that as I was the same with my mother. Hard for females to lose their mothers, especially at such a young age as BK.

Could be a hospital that's larger, better able to care for her if long term is the case?
I believe Bobby Brown's statement was his official statement to verify that reports of Bobbi Kristina's collapese were true, and that she was transported to the hospital. I do not believe that statement in any way means she was moved, or transferred to any other facility.

Sounds very much like what the Houston family did with Bobby Brown during the WH viewing. I'll never forget reading how Bobby went to the service and the family wouldn't allow him to go near Bobbi Kristina.
I know he had his issues with WH, but come on that wasn't the time to keep him away from his daughter.
I've always had a soft spot for Bobby Brown after that episode and he must be having a very difficult time right now.
Sad that for some it is more about power than doing the right thing for those they say they care about.

i have no soft spot for Bobby, none at all. However, at that time, the family should have been thinking first of the chlld, and she was still a child, IMO, that had just lost her mother and, for better or worse, loved and needed her father.

I remember when Oprah was pushing her "special" interview with this child, not long after Whitney's death. I found it despicable. I personally count Oprah as just another adult that let this Bobbi Kristina down. No surprise
that Oprah presented us with Dr. Phil. They have both proven that they will sell their souls, and anyone elses, for the inteview.

Sadly, as strange as this is in the similarities to her mothers death, I wish I could say I was more surprised. What I really felt was a sad sense of inevitability. This young woman had so many odds stacked against her just by virtue of the family she was born into. I am not sure she ever really had a chance.

Of course the world reacted more storngly to the loss of Whitney, such an immense talent, who threw it all away for drugs. Personally I find this to be so much more tragic. This child wasn't old enough to be held responsible for her decisions. She was just a lost child trying to find her way and it now appears she will never have that chance. She really never did.

I pray that she finds peace now.

For Bobbi Kristina Brown, Minutes Without Air 'Could Be Grim'
Since being found unconscious in her bathtub on Saturday, Bobbi Kristina Brown has been in intensive care in a Georgia hospital, breathing with the aid of a ventilator as relatives gather by her side.

A family source told PEOPLE the 21-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston has very little brain activity and her loved ones are "praying, hoping for the best."

Neurologist Eli Zimmerman of Massachusetts General Hospital says her prognosis will depend on "how much oxygen her brain was getting" before Brown was found not breathing, face down in the tub.

"Even minutes [without air] can be grim," Zimmerman says of Brown's chances at a full recovery.

There is a set of criteria for brain death which was developed by neurologists at Harvard. During the time I was employed as an RN in the ICU of a community hospital this set of criteria was adopted by our hospital. The idea behind the Harvard criteria was to try to set a standard among acute care facilities in order to accurately determine brain death, and to document accurately the patient's status to address whether brain death had occurred. Here are the criteria:Harvard criteria A series of 4 parameters delineated by the the Harvard Medical School ad hoc committee for irreversible coma
Harvard criteria for brain death
• Unreceptivity and unresponsiveness
• No movement or breathing
• No reflexes
• Flat electroencephalogram (confirmatory)
In addition, the following must be present
• Body temperature ≥32º C
• Absence of CNS depressants
McGraw-Hill Concise Dictionary of Modern Medicine. © 2002 by The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc.

Most hospitals still utilize these criteria. If, tragically, she has no brain activity on her EEG I doubt anything definitive will be heard until tomorrow. Tomorrow will mark the third day, and if she meets the criteria the physician and medical team will most likely discuss with the family the diagnosis of brain death, and will discuss with them options - taking her off the ventilator or, even worse, IMO, placing her in a long term facility. Under the current reimbursement guidelines, patients declared brain dead are no longer eligible for acute care as the prognosis allows for no improvement. The silence is deafening, and I truly fear this is where this tragic case is headed. My heart aches for this young girl as she grew up with poor role models, even though her parents both loved her dearly. All the money in her estate could not heal her emotional wounds, and it saddens me beyond words that it looks very bleak for her to survive this and overcome the deep wounds in her heart.

Maybe not so much a soft spot but one of anger and disgust on the behalf of Bobbi and Bobby. So much was done that was wrong (in the name of love or power) and that one was glaring.
Great post,chlban.

I still don't know how a person ends up " face down" in a bathtub. Even a larger tub....how?

on a side note.....I just got rid of my tub for a walk-in shower.

I took a bath last night and found myself thinking the same thoughts.
I have a very large tub. Unless I physically turned over face down in the water it was impossible to end up that way.
Even though it was Super Bowl Sunday, I had not taken a drink or anything else, though.

And also Anna Nicole Smith and her son Danny.

And remember when her mother tried to get the funeral stopped and moved at the last minute?

I'm guessing there is a Mexican standoff going on up there between Whitney's family, BB, and Nick.

ETA: I'm unsure if the twitter link is against WS policy, I assumed she's considered mainstream media. I'll remove if not.

"In a few days" that's what I thought as its a gut wrenching decision, and is even more so in one so young. With my mom, the conversation lasted a couple of weeks. It's very, very difficult situation, but it's usually for the best.
