Finally something from LE. A possible suspect LE won't name. But what really does it for me is the mere fact they are talking to the public and that might mean more confidence something is being done. Confidence might inspire someone to make that phone call to LE.

At 10:53 p.m., May 30 - two hours and 13 minutes before Shiel was murdered - she talked with a friend on the phone. All was well.

At 11:23 p.m., 30 minutes later, she was in trouble. A witness told police she saw Shiel at a Shell gas station on Memorial Drive, outside the Perimeter, some 20 miles from the park where she'd soon be shot. Shiel was in her own car with two men, but she was not behind the wheel. Police think the men were possibly holding her captive.

"The witness says she was under some kind of duress, that, clearly, while she may have been acquainted with the people in the car, she didn't look comfortable," Detective Quinn said on June 10.

"She is sitting in the passenger seat of her car, so she's not in control of her vehicle," said Detective Velazquez. "After that encounter, we know that, of course, [Shiel is shot] in Oakland City Park."

Security cameras at the gas station were aimed just to the side of where Shiel's car was parked while it was there with the two men inside of it, so the video does not show the encounter, or the men.

Police found Shiel's car on June 1, the day after they found her body. Some of her clothing was inside the car. Police said someone had tried to hide it; they found it not far from the Shell gas station.

"We have some DNA from the scene, we know it's male DNA," said APD Major Adam Lee III in January of 2017. "We're hoping we will get the match to that person.

I'm hoping we've seen the last updates on the investigation. IOW, we hear of an arrest. From the gas station and whatever forensic evidence LE got from her car they have to be watching someone closely now.

Back to the DNA

So when they learned of new DNA evidence found at the crime scene, they felt a surge of hope.

"We are hoping that at some point we can match that DNA with the person who committed this crime," Lee said.

Criminals usually get caught up again so imo it's only a matter of time before we hear of an arrest.

I am on another thread, and the case made me think of this one. I have forgotten/didn't know some things as I was Googling on this case, I came across something that hasn't been listed here from earlier this year. So posting to capture. There was 4 part video above, but this is an article.

Then, just two days later, police would return to the home -- not for Kinnie, but for Bridget, who was fighting with another woman. Kinnie's other woman, to be exact.

Before her death, Bridget was living with Kevin Kinnie and the mother of his child, Brittney Allocca.

"You had Bridget, Kevin and this young lady Brittney all living under the same roof," said Hill. "There's no way you can live with your current girlfriend and live with your child's mother and there not be some type of friction between all parties involved. It's impossible."

Glad to hear she is still following up on the case. She is one of the journalists in the Atlanta area which really digs into things versus merely copying and pasting what others say - she is a bulldog for missing women in Atlanta and is really doing true investigative journalism and follow up :moo:

I specifically contacted her in the very beginning of another case here at websleuths in Atlanta, about another young missing woman, and she said she could not follow it up because the family had called in to the main number and it was assigned to another reporter.

From your July link... That was from Vincent Hill, a former police officer and CBS46 law enforcement analyst who is the only one who is saying reason she was naked was due to them going to burn her body.(...in a park???...)

Doesn't ring right to me.
