What a legacy to leave your child.
Ronnie may have came from what the sheriff says is a good family but that doesn't mean he is a good person himself. I wonder if Towns family had any inkling Ronnie was having any sort of problems such as drugs, alcohol, and if he was employed. I don't think this is his first crime. Like I said earlier for every one that someone gets caught on, I've always heard there are at least a dozen others they should have. Did he do some other crimes and his family help him get out of it? Not judging his family at all, just all seems so odd.

I believe he acted alone. I also believe there has more than likely been hints at trouble for at least the last few years of his life.

I actually have been discussing this with my older children....if the store was a minimum of 12 miles away, I cannot understand why they would be found at the store, unless he literally killed them right away. I could picture him asking them to follow him to a more isolated location, such as by the pond...but then why bring them back to the store...none of it makes sense. I keep trying to work out scenerio's where he did this alone, and none of it fits, unless he had a dirtbike in the back of his vehicle to put in their vehicle, dispose of it in the pond, then ride back to his vehicle sitting at the store (sticking out like a sore thumb). My son's feel he did this alone...I am not that convinced ...YET.... I cannot tell you how bad I feel for these poor people...out chasing a lifelong dream and lose their lives at the hand of evil....I know how bad I feel, cannot even imagine how the family must be feeling. My heart goes out to all involved, minus the evil ones....IMHO

It does appear to be one and the same. Also if you look really close at the south end of that pond, you can see two tire tracks where people evidently can come in past the other poo poo/retention pond and head up to that souther area and ride along just on that one side....Hmmmm Good sleuthing on the maps...IMHO

you're right, I see the road........AND that metal u shaped pole thing sticking out of the waters edge, what is that, the car in the fox5 pic shows it too

car and metal bar.jpgcar and metal bar and road.jpg

and you'll see it here too

Wow, I did not notice it in the fox five pic, but it sure is there. Yes for sure they are one and the same. It appears that people work at that retention pond area, as exhibited in the map, I wonder if anyone saw anything at all. IMHO

Even if rt only intended to rob them, thankfully there is the felony murder charge... & thankfully in a death penalty state. This story will haunt me ~ Bud & June were everyone's mom & dad. I know, rt has the right to a trial & he will get that at our expense ~ but then be done with him & done quick.

That is exactly what I was thinking with the dirtbike.
I remember thinking that someone said something on here about hearing they were looking for a big truck and thinking dirtbike would fit in that and it might be normal to see him out riding on it.

I know it's awful to think of their excitement and this .........death is bad enough for family members, much less murder

I dont' know how he cuold have driven 2 vehicles, someone had to have ID'd them at some store, there is a marathon gas station at 280 before you hit 319/41, but it's probably also 12 minutes, i think their land on webb cem rd was about midway between mcrae and jacksonville ga

Unless he had a motorcyle, dont think it would fit in the runions suV easily

I'm thinking 2 people, but he sure isnt' telling if so, he did it at the store, things got out of hand, had to get rid of the car, not sure why, not sure WHy HE thought he had to separate them from the car either, that's just strange to me, seems so unplanned, the car wasn't even sunk! Just dont know what the heck, i think he panicked

If just one, then he met and rode with them, maybe they picked him up at his place and he was taking them somewhere to look at alleged car, drove to store, then to pond and dumped their car, aaah, he had to get rid of their car because he was left driving it??? so then he walked home from that pond i showed you, not but a few miles from his house?? IDK, if he's the only one, they picked him up,he had to get closer to his house but not come back in that car...........hmmmm

If his wife wasn't home, no one would notice on that dirt road, who was picking him up, they got their to look at car and he said it's elsewhere, or maybe forensics will tell if it took place inside the vehicle, it would seem less sinister if the Runions went to his home, IDK, brainstorming

so then someone driving big truck, someone driving motorcyle and someone driving the Runions car, gotta think on that one

remember, Ronnie bought the prepaid phone, is that correct? Not to say someone else wasn't also involved tho

Maybe Ronnie's part in it was to buy the phone, talk to the Runion's, maybe even ditch the vehicle.
Maybe the other person took care of the rest,(which included what happened to the Runion's perhaps??), IF there is another accomplice.
IMOO.

No, if he met them with a pickup truck with a dirt bike in back (small motorbike)....then he killed them right away at store, put the dirt bike in back of Mr and Mrs. Runions SUV, drove to pond, put it into the water, then got on his dirt bike, rode to his truck, loaded his dirt bike in back and head home....Just one person...him...(only way I can think that it could be one person...him) IMHO

Not far from our home there is a place everyone calls the chats. People load their bikes up in the back of their trucks and it's not unusual to see. So not knowing how close he lives to someone I was thinking maybe he loaded it up and said he was going to ride somewhere away from home. Parks the truck somewhere, gets on the bike and meets them, and no one would be the wiser he thought because it's the norm to see him with the bike in the truck.

I still think he acted alone. More than anything I want to know why he did this, was he unemployed and needing or just wanting the money. I will never understand killing them.

there was no car, according the reporter qeustions and SS responses on live feed at 4 ish
The Sherrif said "we don't have any reason to believe that there was a vehicle that would be anywhere near the description that Mr. Runion was trying to purchase." That does not mean there absolutely was no car. It only means they have no reason at this time to believe there was one, or haven't seen any evidence of one. There most likely wasn't, but I know of very few people that just travel with $22,000 cash (if the Runions actually did so) on the hope that the car they are going to see is the one they want. And I know of NO ONE would would go to the bank to get money for a car they haven't actually seen.

They could easily I'D him.

It is obvious he bought the throw away phone at this point to use to pull off "Theft by deception". however if he loaded a mini bike or dirtbike, that to me would mean that it was premeditated.....The fact that they were allegedly found at the store (which was the meeting place) makes me think this was planned....:( Now the question is why, what kind of financial pressure would make a man with a clean record kill a lovely older couple??? IMHO

This couple did everything right. They didn't go alone. They were meeting in daylight. I think I read they were meeting at a store.

Short of an armed guard of a bazooka, what else could they have done?

They appeared to have done everything right. Except, use Craigslist, which is notorious for sketchbags, perverts and psychopaths. Yeah, yeah, I know it's "no more dangerous than any other online classifieds" but yeah, it IS. For whatever reason, it's a magnet for nutbars. Sadly, many don't realize that.

seems easier if they just picked him up, or someone dropped him off somewhere and he was left with their car only, seems why he went to that retainment pond area, so close to home, just couldnt' drive their car back to his house

either way, dirtbike or being picked up, the store must've been the intiial meeting place, somewhat quiet area/intersection, i still wonder their manner of death, there were a few houses up from that intersection in jacksonville, but hey, weirder things have happened, SM in downtown macon on busy street, SO, i just dont' know why he didnt' just leave them in the car behind the store where they were ultimately left, unless he didnt' have a car and had to use their's to get away, makes sense.......... of course, someone would have noticed a car there, not bodies unless they were looking for them

I guess in either scenario, someone would have noticed the car abandoned there, maybe he panicked and they weren't inside the car but the struggle was outside, so he jumped in their car and took off leaving them at the store,

why wouldn't RT say right away if there was another involved? in the live report, SS said, only one he knew of at this time........of course that could change, but why didnt' RT tell someone he wasn't the only one?

brainstorming still, and still dont' know if the big truck was rumor or fact............... do we?

okay, can i get a link? I keep seeing that name and I'm not familiar

I'm sure someone has already posted but here it is http://www.websleuths.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?518-Timothy-Bosma This case hit extraordinarily close to home for me for multiple reasons. I placed an ad on kijiji the same day Tim Bosma did, lived in the same type of farming community he did (and not that far away), have mutual friends with the Bosma family & extended church family.
