A body was found in a creek at Sell’s Mill Park in Jackson County at around 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 11.

The name of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of the family. [...] It is unclear at this time whether investigators believe foul play was involved.

Autopsy results are still pending so the exact cause of Evans' death is still unclear.

Both obituaries, as well as a brief death notice in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution list a date of death of 10/11/2018. As far as I can tell, no cause of death was ever released, so I'm inclined to think that nothing criminal was involved.
