East Point police looking for man who has been missing since Thursday

Byron J. Rhodan, 38, was last seen on June 2, 2022 on a MARTA bus in the area of Washington Road and Janice Drive in Atlanta, police said.

EAST POINT, Ga. - — East Point police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who has been missing since Thursday.

Byron J. Rhodan, 38, was last seen on June 2, 2022 on a MARTA bus in the area of Washington Road and Janice Drive in Atlanta, police said.

Rhodan was wearing a multicolored Polo shirt, khaki shorts and multicolored Versace gym shoes.

Police said he is wheelchair dependent with several medical issues, including dwarfism. According to GPS, his phone last pinged in the Griffin area, police said.

Rhodan is 3-feet-tall, weighs between 70-80 pounds, has long black dreadlocks, a full beard with blonde highlights and brown eyes.

Is it me.....very little info. It's four days now since he was last seen. Does he live alone? Did he talk to someone before leaving about where he was heading to? Does he has friends or acquaintances in the Griffin Area? Maybe he was robbed or fell/was pushed in a ditch or become unwell. It doesn't sound good to me. I may hope they are combing out the area where his phone pinged.

It seems like he has friends and family actively searching for him. His stepbrother is posting about it.

Some did say 'please come home.' Maybe they are unsure if he is hiding out for now?

Is this the same Byron? Dwarf sues state over fall from sink I think so. Maybe he turned his life around, but he still might know some sketchy people. I hope he is found safe soon.

Rhodan listed in prison records as Brian Jamal Rhodes asserts in a federal lawsuit that it happened in April 2004 when a guard at the state prison in Jackson told him to shave.</p><p>When Rhodan told the guard he could not reach the mirror above the sink in his cell, the lawsuit says, the guard told him to stand on the sink. Rhodan fell off the sink onto the cement floor in his cell, according to the legal filing. He claims he severely injured his back in the fall. His back had already undergone multiple surgeries as a result of the genetic disorder causing his dwarfism. He asks for unspecified monetary damages in the suit, and alleges the prison system was negligent and violated the Americans with Disabilities Act. Rhodan, 23, was released from prison in June 2005 after serving more than a year for dealing marijuana and possessing methamphetamine.

But an inmate in an adjoining cell claims Rhodan is just running a "scam" on the prison system. RF, in a deposition, said Rhodan fell on purpose from the sink and that other inmates were cheering for him to beat the Department of Corrections.

I'm not a local, but from a Google search:

Griffin is a city in and the county seat of Spalding County, Georgia. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 23,478.

Yes, I found that too. The thing is (and I'm not very good in directions) wouldn't it be logical to take the bus stop on the other side, in the direction East Point to Griffin, instead of going Mid Town Atlanta? Is there a neighborhood in Atlanta called Griffin. There is a Griffin street North West near the end point of the bus in the map I posted. I hope I made myself understandable

BTW according to white pages Byron has lived in Griffin, GA.

Was he found deceased? I could only find one article and an obituary but there was little to no information on what happened to him.

I don't know. I guess if this was something other then natural causes or suicide there would be more news, but I'm not sure.
