AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A man has been missing from the 3400 block of Wrightsboro Road since 5 p.m. Friday, June 29th.

24-year-old Byron Speller was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with blue jeans and black boots.

He was driving a 2005 burgundy Chevrolet Trailblazer. The vehicle was found abandoned on the 2200 block of Lumpkin Road.

Family continues search for missing father

"His brother says the car was found unlocked. No keys. No wallet."

"He was last seen at the Kroger on Wrightsboro Road after locking himself out of his car."

"Deputies found his car at the gas station on Lumpkin Road. Corey says it was parked at a gas pump -- unlocked."

What sort of gas station is going to let a car sit in front of a pump for a week? That doesn't even sound right.

LOL Cyber... unfortunately I understand about 99% of what he is saying...lol.

As do I, although it's not really unfortunate IMO. It's a standard deep south dialect, gotta understand it to communicate around here.

He is the only parent for his two children. They lost their mother a year ago. It does not say how... Hopefully, he is just taking a break?!

Retracing steps, following leads in disappearance of Byron Speller

Kayla Hewitt, Byron's cousin says so far, they have found nothing but she says someone has to know something.

"Somebody is out there who knows something, they're just too scared to say what happened or too scared to speak on the situation that happened with Byron."

I did a Google search and there is an inmate with the same name but I can't figure details of that inmate. I looked on a FB missing person page and as of August he was still missing.

Here's the inmate page with his photo. Looks like he was released but Augusta Superior Court shows another arrest in 2011 with a sentence of 12 years. Multiple burglary charges. BYRON ELLIOTT SPELLER Inmate 1000683265: Georgia Prisoner
