Several witnesses saw Banks being dragged by a male. He threw her into his pickup truck and left the apartment complex. he returned several hours later with blood on him and scratches. So presuming he killed her and disposed of her during those "several hours" her remains would be within a radius of, say 100mi of Dalton? So potential for her to be in northern GA or southern TN. Would NE Alabama also be within reach?

Only one GA UID within a one-hour radius that I could find, and none in Namus in TN within a similar drive www.namus.gov/UnidentifiedPersons/Case#/4682?nav found a 1-hour drive from Dalton, however clothing does not match Carolyn's and age range over her age.

There are 3 state borders within ~ 60 miles of Dalton, GA: AL, TN, NC. Add another 50 miles and one could be in SC.
