- Melody Farris’ second oldest child, Scott Farris, testifies against his mother regarding the death of her husband, Gary Farris.
- Melody Farris told family members about her son, Christopher Farris, stealing money and paying for various things.
- Gary Farris texted his son, Christopher Farris, stating, “Your stealing money is out of control. “ The text was sent a couple of weeks before his death.
- Scott Farris says his father told him to hold onto his [Gary Farris] credit “as if his life depended on it.”

Mom to Scott: "They're coming at 6:30 p.m."
Something about a goat having a baby.
Pros. attorney to Scott: "Page 9, on 28 there, do you see a message from your mom to you?"
Message: Fri., 19 April 2019 - Melody: "People who come to look at house say barn apartment (where Scott had been living and was still living at this time) was filthy. Poop in [sic] floor smells so bad other realtor took pictures. [My comment: do they have smell-a-pic now? Maybe on iPhones?] This is beyond . . . [and she was trying to say 'unacceptable']."
Pros. attorney to Scott: "Do you see that?"
Scott: "Yes."
Pros. attorney to Scott: "The message we have here, on 19 April 2019, at 1:47 p.m., you replied, and what did you say?"
Scott (reading his own reply message to Melody): "That is [cattle excrement]! What's unacceptable is our Father being murdered."

How do you think Scott did today? That attorney was a jerk. He is enamored with himself. He was putting his own brash spin on it, putting his words into Scott’s mouth.
It surprises me when opposing doesn’t object in scenarios like this. It’s like ignoring the obvious opportunities.

I think Scott handled himself extremely well. I have the utmost respect for both Scott and his brother, Christopher.

Scott was excellent under the intense questioning in my opinion.
I didn’t get to see Christopher so I’m glad to hear that he came across authentically.
The daughter is going to be interesting. Their mother has caused their lives to be upended.
In this case I think that’s a choice in and of itself. Opposing is seeing thousands, then the jury is too. I’m sure this behaviour will colour their image of the defense. How could it not?

Thought he did well (from what I saw) under pressure as you can see his trauma from the events of his family. Of course the defense will blame someone else. The jury will see the trauma. I recall when he testified for the state, he called his mother by her first name, which told me a lot. I haven't followed this case on a daily basis, but I am trying to catch up. Hope the sons are receiving therapy and/jor support for their emotional distress. moo

Yep. That fact came out in the testimony of the elder son, Christopher. But not the part about Melody moving in with the new boyfriend. That is new info (to me, at least)!

Daughter testified. She is the youngest sibling. She ID defendant as “she’s my mom.”
Growing up, parents had a good relationship, healthy relationship.
It did change later years, as she got into college.
What caused change in their relationship was her mother began an affair with TedW.
Her father called her at work and advised her that her mother moved in w/Ted.
TW was dating his (her dad) aunt sherri.
No apologies or explanation on her (defendant) end as to why the relationship happened.
At some point defendant returned home.
Defendant was no longer on bank accounts.
TW and her mom would horseback ride together.
Concerning daughter’s wedding:
She testified that we were kind of aware that something was going on with Rusty Barton and her mom. Rusty was on her mom’s guest list. They were dancing together and canoodling at the wedding during reception.
The defendant would talk to daughter about Rusty often.
Her and her sister talked about telling their dad, but ended up not telling him.
The daughter ended up emailing the guest list to her dad. The dad (victim) didn’t respond.
Daughter and her sister were upset about their mom’s behavior on the dance floor with Rusty B.

I thought Amanda was the youngest sibling? And she is the one who sided with the Mom, so we probably won't hear from her until Defense case is up.

I also thought that Amanda was younger than Emily, and that Amanda was the baby of the family.
