The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing man.

Authorities said 25-year-old Dalton Phillips was last seen walking away from the Cowart Mount Trail area last Wednesday around 2 p.m.

He was wearing blue jeans, leather boots, black and tan sweatshirt and carrying two backpacks, officials said.
