DOUBLE HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION – 1531 Carrollton Tyus Road, Carrollton

CARROLL COUNTY, GA – The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a double homicide. The victims, who were located deceased by apparent gunshot wounds, were located in the morning hours of February 20, 2025, and they have been identified as James Brock, 45 and Kristin Brock, 41.

Investigators processed the scene throughout the day yesterday and will continue their work today. They are actively following up on leads and have conducted numerous interviews. As part of the investigation, deputies will be canvassing the neighborhood again today.

At this time, driver’s license photos have been obtained of the victims. We urge anyone with relevant information to contact 911 or Investigator TJ Repetto.

"This is a very quiet community. We may have a few thefts here and there, but we definitely don't have violent crime. So this is very unusual in this area," said Communications Director for the Carroll County Sheriff's Office Ashley Hulsey.

"The weapon was not located on scene, which led us to believe it was a double homicide and not a murder suicide as many were speculating online," Hulsey explained.

"We're not ruling anything out, but it doesn't appear that there was forced entry into the home. Although one of the doors was left ajar when they were found yesterday morning," Hulsey said.

Two people were found dead at a home just southwest of Carrollton on Thursday afternoon.

Described as active church members.
James was awaiting a heart transplant when he was murdered.

Ultimately, it was their five and 16-year-olds who woke up to find both the couple shot to death in their bed.

In addition, nothing in the house was missing, and there were no signs of a break-in.

The Nolan family has rewarded $5,000 for anyone with information that leads to a conviction and arrest.

Hard to determine the facts here... so deleted my questions for now....

I thought I had seen something that indicated the married in 2023....maybe a "re marriage", or a typo....

Fact.... He did have an lvad surgery... So he definitely did have heart failure.

(VAD stands for Left Ventricular Assist Device. It is a mechanical pump that is implanted in the chest to help the left ventricle, the main pumping chamber of the heart, pump blood more effectively. LVADs are used to treat patients with advanced heart failure who are not eligible for a heart transplant or who are waiting for a donor heart.)

I have been friends with Kristin for a very long time. I would have never thought this would happen to her. I know she married James and they had a child together which is 5 years old (a little girl), he had 5 boys by a different woman and she had a girl and a boy from a different man. Who would hate them so much that they would do something so cruel to them?

Not to my knowledge, but they died of gunshot wounds. I guess I shouldn't assume no one heard anything - but it sounds like that was the case.
