Ashburn Police Chief Cliff Jordan said Thursday he is aware of a picture on social media of Green when he was four or five months old, but nothing since.

“From what I know of, there is one picture circulating on Facebook from when the child was anywhere from four to five months old,” Jordan told The Herald. “I understand that there have been people that Adaijah has contacted that have actually seen this child, but not within the last couple of months or maybe year or so

Oh no, it sounds like our first thoughts were right on target, sadly.

“There is nothing that I can release at this time,” said Miles. “All I can say is that we are following the evidence from the case. It is a missing persons case, and we did receive questions about us being in that location, so we were able to confirm that, yes, we are in that location and it is related to the missing-persons case.”

Reading what is being said and what is not. :( Where is this baby?

From your link:

When the GBI was asked about a picture of Green, Miles said, “We don’t have anything to release.”

Asked if there was foul play involved, Miles said, “There is no comment that I can make there. All I can say is that it remains a missing persons case.”

Miles also would not comment on the length of time that the GBI spent searching the former home of Green and Rainey, nor would she confirm if there was a verifiable birth certificate for Detrez Green.

“I can not comment on that,” Miles said.

So we're looking at a window of approximately 2 - 12 months since anyone has seen Detrez. Maybe. Miles didn't even verify if there was a birth certificate for him.

Shades of Erica Parsons. :tears: How does a child get so lost? I'm still unclear about what the grandparents/aunts/uncles/friends etc. have to say about the last time they saw Deterez - if ever.

While TOS prevents us from sleuthing the parents or their social media, this tidbit from the article makes me pretty confident that a news org will locate the photo referred to in the article and we will be seeing it soon enough. Sadly if the photo is as outdated as is being reported above I don't know how much use it will be in their investigation. But at least we will have a face to go with this little guy's name :(

Thank you for the photo.

However; it leaves me somewhat confused if this is the home they lived in. Even though the tornado did push it over to one side the entire mobile home did not come off of its concrete foundation. I see where the ridge cap at the top roof line blew off which left the middle seam open where the home is joined together when its erected on site. In many areas on the side showing in the photo it didn't even tear off the plastic membrane put up for moisture barrier protection and to further insulate the home. The home looks like a rather newer model.

But what I am confused about is they said a large oak tree landed in the kitchen area of the home. The searchers even had to carefully cut the tree up piece by piece to see if he was under it. In a typical floor plan for a double wide mobile the kitchen is usually on the backside of the home near the back exit door. I am assuming all of this from personal experience in selling these type of homes for years when I had my real estate business. The backside is what cant be seen in the photo and the photo was taken of the front of it. This would be consistent with Detraz' mother saying she saw him walking around in the kitchen going toward the backdoor. The door opening seen in the photo has to be the front side of the home. Yet when looking toward the backside of the home I don't see a large oak tree down that went through the roof but I do see one that is smaller where it looks like some of the branches may have gone into the kitchen area on the backside. The oak itself seems to be still standing if I am looking at it correctly but I can see a branch still out above the roof line on the back. It is on the far side of the photo. I do see a large broken pine tree on the side of the home but most of it is left standing and the upper part of the pine wouldn't do a lot of damage since the weight and girth of the pine is mostly still standing.

So it makes me wonder if this is really the home or not. Many of the mobile homes in the area exploded from the force of the wind as if they never existed and were found many yards away in shattered splintered pieces. The only thing showing that there had been mobile homes there was the concrete foundation where the homes use to be.

There is still no word on DG and he hasn't been found. I am sure the GBI is continuing to investigate.

There were several MPHs that were affected by the tornado. I am going to try and go back and see if DG is the only supposed victim in this particular park and see what I can find out.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I lived in a mh once but not a double wide. I do remember in one of the closets it had info on the speeds of wind it could handle. I was really surprised and thankfully never had to test if it could.

Thank ylu ... I had overlooked that bit about three children with them originally. I am going to take a wild guess that one is older and one is younger than Detraz, based on the info from the domestic abuse call in 2014 (when there were two children present)
I wonder if there were other children that day at the home. If so, I hope that LE has been able to talk to them and ask questions?

Though the house has suffered severe damage, there might be some evidence one way or another as to whether Detraz lived there: Is there a crib or a bed for him? Did he have a toothbrush alongside the other kids' brushes in the bathroom? In recent family photos, are there three children included or just the other two? Were there any toddler-age toys in the house? Does the family's vehicle have a toddler-size carseat installed? Assuming he wasn't potty-trained yet, did the family have diapers or training pants in his size on hand?

What about the trash bags the family had filled before the tornado struck? Are there any used toddler-sized diapers in those?

Chances are his siblings' belongings are scattered all over the house. His should be as well, if he lived there. It seems unlikely the tornado would destroy all evidence of only one family member.

Excellent questions! Thanks for sharing.

OBE, I also questioned (myself) as to whether that pic was actually their own trailer... according to the linked photo it was, but I would not bet money for that to be correct. It may or may not have been.

Very good points. I assume authorities have looked into this. I am very sad reading through this thread.

How are there no recent photos?!?

I said earlier in the bad weather thread that I doubted we would hear anything at all once this case was turned over to the state GBI for investigation and that sure seems to be the case. Not one peep about DG in days.

He has still not been found anywhere which convinces me more than ever he was never in that home when the tornado struck. There were supposedly 5 people in the home shown in the photo, and I still am not convinced that was the actual home they lived in, but only DG went missing and the rest didn't have any injuries.

They may never locate him wherever he happens to be. If something happened to him way before the tornado struck then they could have put his little body anywhere never to be found.

We are all still brokenhearted about him not being able to be located. No matter what happened to him he must be found and if he wasn't a victim of the tornado then I pray the GBI finds out what happened to him and who is responsible so justice can be served. If he was in the debris field he would have been located by now. Its been 16 days and he is still no where to be found.

Everything has gone silent........not just the GBI but also the parents. They are no longer talking yet their little son remains missing. When they were saying he was a victim of the tornado they were talking with the press............now crickets.

Those photos dont even begin to show the vast devastation. Many areas and homes are completely gone as if they never existed. The tornado was a mile and a half wide so the swath of destruction is mind boggling and even more so when I actually went into some of the areas and saw it with my own eyes. Many areas looks like Syria and as if it had been bombed. Its truly amazing that more didnt lose their lives that day.

But what is most confusing to me if the photo of Green's mobile home is actually the one they lived in then it did not sustain near the damage that many other homes did.

You are most welcome.:)

Yes, all mobile homes are wind zone rated depending on where the homes will be placed.

In the Albany area it would be rated as Wind-Zone One.
If the home was being placed on the east coast of Georgia or Florida or on the gulf it would be rated Wind Zone Two and mobile homes placed in California must meet Wind Zone Three standards.

The higher the wind zone rating the heavier the mobile home will be due to added wood and other material to make it more structurally sound depending on the area it will be placed.

I am glad you had to never test it either. However even with all of the homes completely lost which I think was a total of over 250 homes in the Albany area and over 440 of them being severely damaged the loss of life could have been much worse.

I wouldn't even rate the Green home as severely damaged although it will be totaled due to the frame being bent when it was pushed over to the front side of the home by the high winds yet didnt rip apart other than the ridge cap coming off of the roof line which opened the two sides up but even both sides of the mobile home are not that far apart from each other and the entire mobile home is still in the same place where it sat before the tornado hit.
