Police: Man went missing during Super Bowl party

Atlanta Police Department, 57-year-old Dexter Dion Thomas was last seen around Centennial Olympic Park at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Thomas' sister said she was walking with the man through the park on their way home, turned around, and realized he wasn't behind her.

Oh dear, this is terrible.
Got to be plenty of cameras around to document where Mr. Thomas was seen. At least I hope so.

Silver Alert? It's very difficult to monitor a dementia patient. I say that based on my own experience. I can't do it in most stores. You turn around. You may even be talking to the person, and they have vanished. Bless her Heart. I hope he is found soon. This is MOO.

Oh no, I hope he's found soon. It's so cold back east.

They should get search dogs in that park ASAP...it could be the quickest way to locate him right now.

That park is big, but not overly huge. I am guessing he wandered off in another direction. There is a lot to see in that area.

There are comments concerning ATL taking the homeless and putting them in the jails, during SB weekend. I hope he didn't end up there.

Oh dear I hope that is not true!
That just seems wrong.

Over a week later, and no news updates.
This is an “endangered” individual with dementia who is missing.
Did this story just get lost in the background of the hubbub of the Super Bowl?
This seems very odd to not have any updates.

Wow, i agree. An entire week and nothing?? My heart hurts for his family. He has a great smile. I hope he is safe and well and can be reconnected with his family so soon

I wonder if he has been located, but nothing has been reported?!

I called the Atlanta Police Department and confirmed that Mr. Thomas has been found safe.

Thrilled to find out Dexter is safe. What a scare for his family. Can't imagine.

By the way, the detective I spoke with at Atlanta Police Department was very polite and helpful. Sometimes you never know how you will be treated when you call a law enforcement agency.
I don't want to name any departments so I'll just use their initials but the detective I spoke with a while back at the L.A. police department came across with all the politeness and caring of a honey badger who hadn't eaten in a year. I felt like I needed therapy after I got off the phone with him. Granted it was only one detective and maybe he was having a bad day you know?
