Investigator Brian Salters says they collected 44 of #TexMcIver's guns; most were at the ranch; 4 were at the law firm. Salters goes through several of the .38s. .Of the five, three have hammers like the one in photo shown. Doesn't know how many are Tex's vs. Diane's @wsbradio

#TexMcIver - WSB's interview with Mciver: "guns are not my thing" he goes on to say the theory that he did this because he needed her money is "just not the case". He says she was very successful but "I was more".

Day 12 concludes w/ another clip of #TexMcIver being interviewed, this time by Channel 2 reporter @MarkWinneWSB (from April 2017): "Guns are not my thing... she was very successful in her own right, but I was more." Not true.

Cash Poor Tex McIver's Bottom Line Rose by More Than $1M When His Wife Died
Without cash infusions from his wife, Tex McIver's bank accounts would have been in the red when he shot and killed her, according to testimony Wednesday.

"Stripped of his equity partnership at Atlanta’s Fisher & Phillip, Claud “Tex” McIver’s financial situation was dire when he shot and killed his wife, a forensic accounting expert testified Wednesday at McIver’s ongoing murder trial.

Dean Driskell, managing partner at FTI Consulting an adjunct professor at Georgia State University, testified that, after reviewing more than 20,000 pages of McIver’s financial records, he determined that McIver was “cash poor” when he shot Diane McIver in the back as they traveled through the streets of downtown Atlanta on their way home from a weekend at their 85-acre ranch...."

THAT display of guns today was disgusting as Tex looks on smirking and so proud of his cache. I thought it brought little to the case as did most of today...I did like the video where he said Diane was very successful "but I was more"....but again not so sure any of this brought us closer to a guilty verdict. The think the judge and his showboating is getting pretty old and I find myself looking away as his hands and body are flailing all over. I don't understand or appreciate him but I understand some do. I like a strong judge that does not seem to look for centerstage. That is my summary of today...all in all boring.

Financial expert lays out Tex McIver's financial situation during murder trial

"...The defense pointed out that Diane’s response was light-hearted. They added that McIver needed Diane to live so his finances wouldn’t get worse.

“If he doesn’t have access to cash that’s in Diane’s estate, his cash flow problems were not as bad before Diane died because she was giving him money every month.”

But the state said that’s not the case. McIver collected a $600,000 life insurance policy of Diane’s, along with close to $300,000 from her 401k.

McIver had a $1 million retirement plan, but the financial expert testified that based on his cost of running the ranch that money would have only lasted him two years."

boy per the pros on Law & Crime feel better instruct lesser and hope they can get convictions on those...no intentional murder has been proved. I have to agree...I doubt Tex will do any prison time and I don't like that...but the state has not done a good job.

Watching the hearing about the gun found...this Sheriff is one of the most crooked I have ever seen...another "good old boy" trying to protect his friend Tex...and why in the world is Janie Calhoun getting involved with any of this crap...she has a gun and calls him to see what to do?

Sock drawer gun hearing?

That is on my list, I find your take on it is compelling. Appreciate your running commentary, turaj.

Well, they are pretty successfully establishing he is a liar.

I have watched it in bits and pieces and frankly for me it spells "collusion" and don't get at all trying to say Billy Corey made Hugh plant the gun? What a scapegoat...one thing that comes out loud and clear is Billy Corey's hatred of Tex and that is for real.

Recent testimony: Diane tested negative for cocaine/amphetamines but was legally drunk upon arrival to hospital.

Diane was very intoxicated the night of her death . Not sure what we're supposed to gather from that. BTW, #TexMcIver 's BAC was never tested.

Tech testifies if the gun were completely concealed in the bag and #TexMcIver fired it on the outside of the bag, he would still have GSR on his hand.

Judge says he's leaning towards allowing jurors to handle #TexMcIver gun. So far it's been inconclusive whether the gun was cocked, requiring a single action and only 2+ lbs of trigger pressure, or not, which requires double action and 12+ lbs of trigger pressure (cont'd)

...It's obviously easier to see an accidental discharge from a cocked gun (though irresponsible gun safety-wise) It's much more difficult, but not impossible, for the shooting to have been an accident if the gun was uncocked #TexMcIver

Defense points out GSR is fragile, can fall off an item after manipulation. Shows pictures of gun removed from bag, bag crumpled up in a picture.

:sheesh: Defense lawyer Harvey needs to stop throwing things in that are not relevant to anything- modified guns...:gaah:

I think he just likes to lecture the jury/witnesses on how much he knows about the subject or maybe he wants to confuse the jury...

Maybe he needs to stop being a lawyer and become a college professor...
