GUILTY GA - Eight family members brutally murdered in Brunswick home, 29 Aug 2009

I understand what you are saying but he could say we know who did this and we are watching them. He can still say something that won't jeopardize the investigation. I couldn't imagine being a resident right there with the lack of info.

If the chief of police were to say this and it wasn't true, that would be giving the community a false sense of security. People may let their guard down when they shouldn't. He has said they don't know who did it and have no known suspects. I think everyone should be very careful and not assume LE has information that would make us feel safer. They may not know anymore than we do. Until the perps are behind bars, no one is safe no matter what info we get from MD. It is quite unsettling to know they are still on the loose and I can't think of anything the chief of police could tell me to make me feel safer while they're still out there.

Please, everyone in this area, be careful. It doesn't matter what info Matt Doering gives us. Until he tells us they've been arrested, we are not safe.
Actually, that goes for everyone, anywhere. They could be far away from here by now.

The only new information I noted in this article:

Mark Hill was once married to Toler Sr.'s ex-wife and stepfather to their four children - Chrissy, Russell Jr., Michael and Michelle.

"They were good kids, well mannered, well behaved," Hill said in an interview before the names were released. "Every one of them were good kids."

Hill said he and the mother of the children divorced about eight years ago and he had not seen them in several years.

An acquaintance of Toler Sr., Sam Davis, said Toler and his children used to stop in at the convenience store where Davis worked when the family lived in nearby Townsend.

"He was just a nice guy. Quiet, humble. He'd do anything for anybody in the world," Davis said, adding Toler Sr. was always buying snacks and drinks for his children. "He looked like he loved his kids. I'd see him stop by with them going on fishing trips."

It's even more heartbreaking to put faces with the names. My continued prayers for these families.

I keep trying to see how this could be layed out. One article said the victims were found either in bed or next to their beds. So where were all these people sleeping. 3 bedroom trailer???? It makes you feel like there should have been 5 intruders.

Of course if tv's were playing, and everyone was use to ignoring noise.

No one hearing gunshots is really puzzling.

Prayers for little Byron and the family.

BBM. I've been driving myself nuts trying to figure out how all of this went down, all those people in a small space. Didn't they hear each other being attacked? You would think after the first couple of victims were attacked, the rest would have woken up and all hell would have broken loose. Like you 5 intruders or something like that. I thought about them being drugged. But how would you accomplish that all at once with that many people? Neighbors didn't hear the shots. Didn't the dog bark? Even if the dog knew the attackers, you'd think it would bark just from hearing what was going on inside.

So I can't sleep-again and I am watching The Next 48 Hours on A&E- The episode is about a mass murder in TN. 4 adults- 2 children murdered and 3 children savagely beaten and stabbed. This case is so similar to the Brunswick one. Very weird. It is called a blackout- ordered by a gang. Apparently they go after the whole family-even kids; and they do not give up. I can't even imagine.

Oh wow- just saw the end of the First 48 hours Case- it was the main victim's brother acting alone- one of the kids, a little 9 yr old was able to ID him and he confessed when brought in.

I am not saying this is what happened here at all- just a case that is similar and had, for me anyway, an unexpected end.

I am still wondering where Guy"s brother is as he was so determined to call him. Also the first day the LE said there was a family member missing so who and where is that family member ? Maybe the missing brother?

Ok, I'm confused. Look at this snipped part. Just yesterday they stated gangs were not involved now they are saying not ruled out?!
Snipped:
Doering said investigators of the eight slayings in a Brunswick mobile home have not ruled out gang involvement or drugs in the attack. But he declined to comment about the possible motive.

Every time I look at Michael's picture I start to cry. This is just so crazy and I wake up every morning hoping to see that the person or persons has been caught or committed suicide. I pray to God that this is soon resolved.

There is a brother or brothers and brother in laws not in the mix. I'm wondering their alibi's also.

Guy Jr's "family" showed up with the bail money but no details as to who they are. I don't believe any description of them has been published.

From what I understood from the article I posted there is not an ankle bracelet available right now. So it's been delayed.

The only mention of Tyler I have seen is in his father's obituary.

When talking about the fund set up to help the family someone had this to say: (Quoted from the brunswicknews.com)

"Donations continue to arrive to help pay for the funerals, and they are needed, relatives and a church minister said.

"I'm sure they need quite a bit of help," said Carl Rowe, an uncle to Toler's children. "You're talking about a family that averages $10,000-a-year in salary, and most are maintenance workers and low-income workers. You're not looking at big-time money people here. You're looking at down-to-earth folks."

Wow! I really hope that since the reward has reached $50,000 that maybe someone in need of the money will rat them out.

Bail money in hand, Heinze's family arrived at the Glynn County Detention Center at 9 a.m. Thursday to bail him out only to learn he won't be released until an electronic monitoring device a judge ordered him to wear was available. It may not arrive from out of state in time for Heinze to attend the visitation tonight or the joint funeral Saturday for his family, Harrison said.

"We had been led to believe he would be out [Thursday] or Friday at the latest, and now we don't know when it will be," said Harrison, who said his client's family has offered to pay for overnight delivery of the device.

"They are saying they are back-ordered," he said.

Before Glynn County Chief Magistrate Tim Barton set Heinze's $20,000 bail, county Sheriff Wayne Bennett said unless ordered by the court, he would not allow him to attend the services. Harrison said he may seek the order if the device doesn't arrive.

A man who answered the phone at Providence Community Corrections in Jesup said late Thursday afternoon he wasn't authorized to talk to the media even about the general availability of monitors. He promised to have his supervisor call the Times-Union, but she did not.

The company recently got the contract with Glynn County and will be using a more sophisticated type of monitoring bracelet that does not require the use of a landline telephone, county officials said.

When asked, Harrison wouldn't say whether they think authorities are using the device as an excuse to keep Heinze in jail.

"I'm not going to say they did it deliberately because I can't prove it," he said.

:mad:This is so aggravating to me. As well as senseless and inhumane.

Guy jr has went through more than any of us could even begin to comprehend. Regardless of whether the company can (or will?) provide the bracelet, he deserves to be able to attend his families funeral. My God, it is his father AND every member of his immediate family! Note the section where Glynn County Sheriff Wayne Bennett said he would not allow Guy to attend unless ordered by the court!

If Guy jr is NOT in fact not a suspect, (which in my opinion, he is not), then there is NO reason, NO excuse for the legal system to not allow him to attend his own families funerals. If law enforcement knows of a reason
that he needs to be protected, then send him with officers for protection. Have a little compassion.
