Female? Male? Caucasian?
~For some reason I'm thinking male Caucasian of Hispanic/Latino origin.

I know the podcast Classic City Crime has two episodes covering this case with information about who Elijah was as a person and personal interviews.

Incredible news! I was just in that RaceTrac the other day and thought about Elijah, as I always do, as I paid at the counter. So happy for his family! Now I want to know what motivated this senseless killing?

Stunned at the similarities between the police sketch and the photo of the suspect. That is "some good sketch artist" to take it from the surveillance camera and capture him so well.

That is a damn good sketch! I’m in shock at how much of a match the real suspect is to the sketch.
The entire science of suspect sketching is fascinating to me. I remember reading that Jesse Matthew's friends (or colleagues?) initially told him that he resembled the sketch that was released (in the search for Hannah Graham) that looked like him. Why didn't they tell LE?

Has anyone heard about a plea or a trial date? I took Elijah to get his driver’s license. Lived two doors down from him. His death hit me hard. He did not deserve this.

I’m really sorry for the loss of your friend.

I’ve not seen any article updates. Haven’t checked records site.

Maybe related to Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).

A Boston University study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in July 2017, found the progressive, degenerative disease in 87% of the brains of 202 former U.S. football players. CTE was found in 99 percent of the brains obtained from National Football League players, 91 percent of college football players and and 21 percent of high school football players.

The brain disease can only be diagnosed after death with an examination of the brain. It is believed that those with CTE develop a range of cognitive, behavioral, mood and motor issues later in life.

I googled it a bit. He plans to plead not guilty. He will be tried in federal crime for another crime first.
