The Camden County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence of Emily Drury, located at 3668 McKinnon Road in White Oak, Georgia, to conduct a welfare check on Emily Drury after she failed to show up for work that morning. The responding deputies located Emily Drury deceased inside her residence.

Autopsy results revealed the death was caused by a gunshot.

A billboard with her photograph was erected on Georgia Spur 25 in Woodbine offering a $30,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of her killer.

Sheriff’s office Capt. Kevin Chaney said the billboard generated calls initially, but none of the tips generated information to help the investigation.

“It bothers the stew out of me,’’ Proctor said from his office last week.Deputies who were asked to check on Drury’s welfare went to her isolated house and found her lying dead on the floor. At first, investigators believed she had died from natural causes but an autopsy showed otherwise.
Drury lived 2 miles down McKinnon Road, a dirt road that intersects U.S. 17 south of the White Oak community. The road has no other houses, and it dead-ends just past her modest wood siding house.
In the months after her death, the house went into foreclosure and was bought from the lenders. The gate across the driveway is chained shut and mattresses and other belongings are piled high behind the house

A team of six Camden investigators and a Georgia Bureau of Investigation special agent continue to work the case.
An entire room at the Camden County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to the Drury investigation. It includes crime scene photos on the walls and all the investigation files.

Every day, Chaney said at least one deputy looks at the files and crime scene photos to keep everyone thinking about the investigation.

Emily's Obituary

Can't find many details on this case. This is pretty much what's out there. So sad that it is not getting solved. :(
I grew up in Woodbine and was childhood best friends with her daughter. MOO- It was likely Emily's ex husband, Eric Sparre. He was just arrested this year for the murder of a couple from the 80s. Supposedly in the case file for the couple, Emily had given investigators a tip that Eric had confessed to the murder on an answering machine, and she still had the tape.
