Circumstances of Disappearance
Ruark was on her way to meet her husband and daughter in Madison, Georgia on June 24, 1990. Her vehicle was located in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart in Madison.
The Ruark's were involved in a divorce at the time of her disappearance. James Ruark stated that he did not see his wife or that he was planning to meet her the day she disappeared. The same day the Felita went missing, James Ruark traveled to Jackson, Mississippi where he was living at the time.

Poor Felita.

Was more done by LE than interviewing her ex? Honestly asking, not accusing.

Her page on CP says she was also going to see her daughter. How old was her daughter at the time and what does she remember?

Unfortunately, her daughter was 3 years old at the time, per this article, so she probably remembers very little now and not a ton even then.

Also per this article, Felita was living in Jacksonville, NC, at the time, and had driven with a friend to Conyers, GA, specifically to see her daughter (guessing this was a halfway-ish point between where she was living and where her husband and daughter were in Mississippi). Felita and the friend checked into a motel on Saturday, then, per the friend, Felita left to go to the McDonalds on Sunday morning. Her car was then found in a supermarket parking lot two miles from the McDonalds on Monday. Felita is Filipino and was described as being 5'1" tall and 105 lbs. FWIW, I would guess the friend to be female based on the name (Venus Miranda).

Her husband filed an unnamed civil suit against her later a couple of months later, in Mississippi. I believe similar notices were all published on August 13, 20, and 27th.

Earlier in 1990 (February), she apparently was still living in Mississippi and gave a talk on Filipino culture. She's referenced as having married an American soldier and living in Jackson, but the language doesn't quite manage to say that they're still married.

So, very interestingly, there is a Marine recruiter by his exact name who committed suicide in Alabama in 1996 after being discovered using the identity of another man for financial gain (bad checks, etc.). That man's wife's name does not match the wife's name from the marriage license notice in 1991, but this is admittedly 5 years later. If this is in fact him, I wonder who raised his and Felita's daughter? She would have been around 9 or so at the time, and, again, if this is him, been through a couple of stepmothers.

I just don't even hardly know what to say after reading all of those articles, except that no mother would arrange to meet with her soon-to-be ex husband some 450 miles away in order to gain custody of her 3 y/o child and then disappear Without foul play being involved. I don't know the answers but I feel that her soon-to-be ex husband did/does.

Jacksonvile, NC is home of the Camp Lejuene Marine Base and is in fact about 1/2 way to Jackson, MS. There are definitely military affiliations there in Jackson. Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi would seem to me to be the most likely location of Felita.

The article with a person of the same name identified as the Marine Recruiter committing suicide after just being arrested for impersonating/stealing the identity of a deputy sheriff (and opening two bank accounts, and getting a license under his name with Ruark's picture on it) is just a little to coincidental for me not to believe it to be the same person.

I wondered what her "ex" husband's (same name) affiliation was with Madison, GA - there has to be one of some kind. I looked up the person with same name and findagrave shows his burial in Bostwick, GA; 10 whole miles from where Felita's car was located and she was to meet the husband. That again just points right back at him.
