I liked that the forensic psychologist pointed out how damaging it was to killer mom's already fragile sanity and emotions to be told ridiculous hippy pseudoscience mixed with caveman domestic violence. It's too bad the whole lot of these people can't be sterilized. They have since had more kids. I hope the kids are faring better.

Anyone notice the connection with the Twelve Tribes Cult? They have been mentioned in many documentaries over the years. I have also been wondering what happened to that Traveller community in Asheville since they had the Hurricane. No one has mentioned if they were there when the Hurricane happened or what. I haven't been to Asheville in years, but the streets were thick with them, say, 15 years ago.

I'm going down the Twelve Tribes rabbit hole because of this. I had never heard of them before this trial. I saw that there's a few podcasts that discuss them.
There are so many layers to this case.

I agree.

And, I won't be a customer at a Yellow Deli, ever.

This series has an episode about them, if you're interested. The whole series is good.

There’s no chance Chloe will testify, right? What are everyone’s thoughts?

No. It's an insanity defense so really only the psych professionals can speak to her frame of mind at the time of the crime.

Today, during trial the State played an jail call from Chloe to her mother. Did any of you catch the jist of what the call was regarding? I heard it was about the money Chloe had given them to take care of for her ... then I heard her mother say something about "you are accusing us of stealing?" Poor audio - or poor hearing on my end... but would like the details if anyone caught them.

Looks like we are on verdict watch now.
I feel the state has proven that she cannot claim insanity.
She clearly knew right from wrong as per the bodycam footage and her written statements at the hospital.
She was not suffering from a delusion that would have made her feel like killing Hannah was justified because she was a threat.
The look on Chloe's face at closing, because she is a smart one, was the look of defeat.

Will return at 9 am to resume deliberations.

I may have missed it - but why hasn't post-partum depression been considered a critical issue in this case?

Found GUILTY but mentally ill of all charges.
Sentencing to be at a later date.

I think the jury made the correct decision. I just wish there was some legal way to get "that leader and his minions" away from other vulnerable people.

Court is live for sentencing.

So she was going back to the jail during this trial and having phone s*x with a guy. WOW
This should go well with her sentencing...

Chole says she has "Drowned in sorrow and regret"
"I see her everywhere in everything"
