I wonder why they took three weeks to put this info out to the public?

It does say he was turned over to Cartersville Police?
I think LE may know more than they are saying about Heather with the reward recently upped to $20,000. Imho

From link:
An apparent person of interest in the disappearance of a 27-year-old Cartersville woman is in custody on another charge, an official with the U.S. Marshals Service said Wednesday.

The agency arrested Richard Dale Harden in Carroll County on Oct. 7 on a warrant for sex-offender registry violation, spokesman Jim Joyner said. Marshals shot Harden in the arrest process, and he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. Harden eventually was turned over to Cartersville police, and he is in the Bartow County jail.

He IS in Cartersville--Bartow County Jail. Why wasn't media told about this when it happened? Wasn't Oct 5th was the day that GBI surrounded the Courtesy Inn? And they arrested RH Oct 7? Sounds related.

I am thinking there was confusion on where he was arrested and where he lived.
Powder Springs is a ways away from Cartersville.
Haralson County is next to Bartow County.

Ok...trying to remember off the top of my head...will go back to check and confirm dates.
This guy was arrested around the 6th or 7th of October and then released to Cartersville on date posted on above roster of 10/20.
Housekeeping from the Courtesy Inn texted me on 10/13 and said she heard that they had found her body. (I have that pm and did check that date) I did ? where this information came from and she said Maranthon(gas station) via Cartersville Police. I did reply that the family would be the first to know.
But it makes me think.
Also my first time at the Courtesy Inn one of the three was a rso but address did not show living at the Courtesy Inn.
And No, not the guy in custody.
Will check my dates, etc...

Maybe they found A body 10/13 but it wasn't ID'd yet? After almost a month she would not be recognizable and DNA tests to confirm can take a while. The body found in Haralson County was found Oct 30th according to the Sheriff's fb post: https://www.facebook.com/haralsoncountysheriff.org/?fref=ts

How long does it normally take to ID a body? I'm wondering what the significance is of naming RH a POI today, as opposed to last week or next week? IIRC, HM's cellphone and ID were missing from the Jeep. Is it possible something was found with the body in Haralson County that assisted in the identification process? If RH was listed by SM as a potential POI (still not clear on that), it's possible they had been trying to locate him those first couple weeks before finding him in Carroll County. The most recent addresses I found for him were in Cartersville, but he does have FB contacts in Carroll County. I wouldn't think the RSO violation would be enough to hold him, but resisting arrest may be?? I'd like to think that the $20,000 reward has encouraged someone to come forward.

It depends on so many factors--the condition of the body, the resources of the location found, where they send it for ID, other evidence found with the body. Just from my reading cases here I have noticed it can take a month or longer to get DNA back. In Heather's case they should have her dental records (Assuming she went to the dentist) and that could make for faster ID than waiting on DNA. I'm sure there is so much more LE knows and isn't saying since they kept this arrest quiet for this long.

One thing of note-- RH is a named POI, not a suspect. A POI may become a suspect later or they may just be a person with info on the case. He may be considered a witness. I hope the POI tells all he knows.

Also, the other woman went missing Sept 29th, I believe.

I totally agree. Plus since he was in prison I would assume he got a long parole and may still be under that. I'm thinking they have been trying to get someone at the hotel to talk who knew him and his whereabouts, hence, would make sense why they did the big search there. Does anyone have the search date at hand?

It was Oct 5th when GBI swarmed the Inn. It's mentioned as Wed afternoon in this article from Oct 6th: http://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/bar...search-for-missing-cartersville-mom/453835743
