James Anthony Joyner - Missing Since 2020 (NamUs #MP86060)
Sex/Ethnicity: Black male
Age At Disappearance: 25 (would now be 31)
Height/Weight: 6'2", 160 lbs
Hair/Eyes: Black hair, brown eyes
Clothing: unknown
Distinguishing Features: N/A
Date Missing: April 26, 2020
James disappeared on a trip with his friend. It was meant to be a quick weekend getaway to Atlanta. He only had a simple weekend bag with him. However, James didn't return to North Carolina, but his friend did. Since April 2020, James's phone has been turned off, and he has had no contact with his family. This is all extremely out of character for him.
According to the friend, James took his car keys and drove away while he was asleep. He did not see him after that. The family has expressed their opinion that the friend may have more information.
James was a former student at UNC Charlotte. He was vibrant, playful, and spiritual. James loved tarot cards, which helped him cope with his mother's death in 2018. The family says that James always kept close contact with family and friends, so his disappearance is extremely uncharacteristic.
