Just a small update - no court today after all. Apparently there is a hearing next month at some point.
Is this trial going to be televised?

Is this trial going to be televised?
I imagine it will be. Hightower has allowed cameras in his courtroom for SG's bond hearing, plus he allowed them in the recent trial for AJ Scott.
IMO.

I really don't know what to make of this one. What I do know is the eulogy SGP gave at the funeral is a highly strange one. MOO.

Is the trial still going to happen on Jan 5th?

As of now, yes. However, the defense filed a motion in regard to SGP's mental health examinations, something about the results weren't in completely yet? I'd have to find the video clip from court a couple of weeks ago.
I haven't seen any continuances approved by Judge Hightower on the court website, though, so it looks like everything is on schedule.
IMO.

  • Trial date set for Jan. 5 in Carroll County double murder case
  • Expert evaluation report could affect schedule
  • Report is expected shortly after Christmas.
In court, defense attorneys told the judge that once the expert’s report is turned over, the state should have time to review it and decide whether to hire its own expert. Prosecutors agreed, saying they are currently announcing ready for trial but may need additional time depending on the contents of the report.

Today would have been Jamey's 46th birthday.
As of now, jury selection begins on Monday.
I was considering making the shortish drive to attend once things get started, but I'm now thinking that I won't intrude on this families pain.
Hoping for justice and answers for Kristin and Jamey.
IMO.

I have watched several content creators cover this case, Mike may be the only approved source?

Is Gigi (Pretty Lies and Alibis) an approved source? She will be streaming this one.

Anyways, I think he gives a relatively balanced overview of the characterization of Sarah.

Law and Crime, too.
I'm thinking opening arguments will be Wednesday, with tomorrow and Tuesday for jury selection. We'll see how it goes, as this judge isn't tolerating any delays. Still waiting to hear about those psych evals, though, but I don't think those will be helpful here.
IMO.

I don’t see how it could help either, she’s not insane. But there might be something in them that could help in the sentencing phase maybe.

Per Court TV, the trial has been continued.
The State asked for a continuance based on the neuro exam reports, which were just sent to counsel on 12/31.
Yikes.
IMO.

The Court only received a draft of the neuropsychologist's report. Not the final version. That's the reason for the postponement until August 2026.

Very concerning that the State didn't receive the rough draft until 12/31, and that the Defense was ready to go forward this morning without the final report. That could have been a big mess during trial.
IMO.

Anyone want to hazard a guess what’s in the report, that could be in Sarah’s favor?

I've been looking at neuropsych assessment info all morning, and can't figure out anything that would benefit her at all with a not guilty plea.
IMO.
