GA - James Brock, 45 and Kristin Brock, 41, double homicide, Carroll County, 20 February 2025 *Arrest*

I've been looking at neuropsych assessment info all morning, and can't figure out anything that would benefit her at all with a not guilty plea.
IMO.
I very briefly described the case and asked ChatGPT, what potential factors could be in the report, answers are interesting.

I'm wondering just how well her grandfather knows her, how much he's been in her life.
He says "I've always liked Sarah".
Odd thing to say about your granddaughter.
IMO.
I thought that was very odd as well. I had not followed this case, prior to last night. Just now listened to the interview with Law & Crime with Sarah's maternal grandfather. He seems detached.

Well, I’m not surprised the defense filed this. The new trial date is eight months away. But I do wonder if what’s in the report also relates.

Oh yes, it was a given that they would file ASAP.
But, what has changed since the first bond hearing that would influence the judge's decision in her favor? Good behavior since July, but she's also been in protective custody the whole time. No Gen Pop.
We'll see if that report comes up on the 27th.
A couple of things I hope not to see on the 27th - those tee-shirts, and her pastor on the stand again.
IMO.

Bond hearing this morning.
Trying to find a live stream, so if anyone has one please share.

Court TV has it on now. Her grandfather (Kristen's father) is on the stand.
He's been a big supporter of SGP, and has let slip a couple of things in interviews that probably shouldn't have come out.
IMO.

Just typing as I watch, so if I make any errors please forgive me.
Mr. Nolan first says that if released, she can maybe stay with him in Rome. That he hasn't been paid for his story.
However, the defense got him to admit that if released, she would be staying with her friend in Alabama (this won't work, IMO). AND he has signed a contract with a production company for the story.
Claims he hasn't received any money from the company yet.
Says none of the money would be going to SGP, but to him, his ex-wife and SGP's dad.
IMO.

Grandmother is on the stand, she has custody of James and Kristen's little girl.
Apparently SGP is able to talk to her grandmother and her little sister daily.
She also confirms that SGP would be staying with the friend in Alabama.
The State is really hammering on the media rights and the contract that was signed. $100k to be divided amongst Kristen's parents and SGP's dad. She states that SGP could "probably" stay with her if need be. I don't see that happening if she has custody of the little girl, who is a major witness in this trial.
IMO.

Seems like instead of setting all those bond restrictions on her, it just makes more sense to keep her in jail and it also seems she is adjusting well to jail. So why fix it, if it ain't broke?

Agreed, nothing has changed.

With family like this.... "I'll take that check, but no, I won't take any responsibility for this teen." Ugh. I ALMOST feel sorry for SGP. I'm very glad that all the potential motives and incentives have been made clear here.

ETA - I really wish and any all $ would go to the remaining daughter. I hate to see this peripheral "family" members compensated, except unless they have custody.

Judge says there is no material change.
The only changes were the continuance and the contracts that the father and grandparents signed.
Explains to SGP that this case is actually going incredibly fast (it sure is).
Emphasizes that her defense was not prepared to go to trial without the neuropsych report, thus the continuance.
Judge Hightower is very calmly and kindly explaining all of this, speaking directly to SGP.
Says that things have intensified due to the contracts that were signed.
Bond denied!
IMO.
