This poor baby boy. How do people that don't deserve children end up with them and those that do deserve them aren't able to conceive? There is someone out there who would have loved him and spoiled him with a good life. I will never understand the universe and the things it does.

So glad her family did the right thing and reported her. And grateful we didn't have to suffer through any "zanny the nanny" nonsense. I still wonder is there was a boyfriend involved here - so sad for all the members of the family the loved Jayceon, RIP little guy.

Human remains found in connection to missing 4-year-old, mother charged (41nbc.com)
[...]

The Vienna Police Chief held a news conference Thursday morning, saying they received a tip that Keara Cotton was abusing her children. During the investigation, many attempts to contact Cotton had been made, though she responded to none of them, and failed to follow through with promises to allow officials and family see Jayceon. Family began to look for Keara and her children after fears arose she was abusing them.

Keara Cotton was found in Crisp County and taken in for questioning. Potential human remains that could be the body of Jayceon Mathis, were then found in the city limits of Cordele.

The remains were taken to the medical examiner’s office in Atlanta for an autopsy. The autopsy was performed on Wednesday, January 26, but the results are still pending.

Oh my ... I can’t believe this is happening again! Suddenly there are at least three cases where children have been missing for extended periods of time... what on earth? And what’s with parents abusing their kids ... babies even ... I just can’t ...Moo

The mother in this case was charged quite quickly with child neglect before LE knew what had happened. Why in so many cases are parents with missing kids not charged? Is it different if someone else reports it and not the parent? I always find it frustrating when the people in charge of kids that are suspiciously missing are not held accountable for anything. Rest easy now, Jayceon. Sweet boy. Another innocent taken entirely too soon.
