Wanted to add that her condition is more of a personality disorder than any treatable medical condition.She does wants she wants because she can.

She also gets away with it without any consequences. Or hardly any.

I did! Page 119, Passages, under the subhead 'Split' : "Looks like runawaybride Jennifer Wilbanks will elude the altar again: She and fiance John Mason have officially called off their engagement according to Mason's father." It then had a small recap of her story. Very short, no picture.

Most people, when they concoct fake rape allegations, don't include lesbian sexual assault, so I suspect that's her subcocnscious talking to the rest of the world.

Did they ever return the original wedding gifts?

I'd like to know what's going to be done with those tens of thousands of dollars' worth of gifts. I read somewhere that she told people she hadn't opened the gifts, but later confessed that she lied and that she (or both of them) had indeed opened the gifts. I know you can't believe everything you read, but she sounds like the type of person who would do that. Guess she'll keep all the gifts as well.

I think he was really in love with her and thought he could help her and everything would be alright. Maybe over time he discovered he couldn't help her. There were rumors that she had broken engagements before but that may have been just rumor.

I felt sorry for both families and all of the friends and relatives when she did that. Her folks seem like nice people too and it was obvious that they believed that something bad had happened to her. A terrible thing to do to everyone. I thought John was a nice guy and I hope that in the future he finds a nice girl...gets married and has a good life. Just glad it isn't going to be Jennifer.

I don't know, but one can factor in shoplifting, lying, broken engagements and general mayhem. A lot of being self-absorbed and one can pick and choose a disorder category to put her in (as an amateur).

The families are nice and didn't deserve this at all. I kind of hope we don't hear about her again.
