I wonder what John Mason is thinking and saying privately now. Would love to be a fly on the wall at his home. I'll bet his parents are in shock also. Wonder if he regrets his rush to go on Hannity & Colmes.

One reason this could be a forum, is that isn't he and his family kind of a victim in all this? But unfortunately I'm sure they're not going to let out much information.
Are there any lessons: 1) How well do you really know the person you are marrying?
2) Should we do a criminal background check on fiances?

I just heard on Court TV news that JW is going to be charged with two felonies, lying to law enforcement and making a false police statement. The first charge carries a maximum of five years in prison. The second charge carries a max of one year.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- A Georgia prosecutor says a grand jury has indicted jittery bride Jennifer Wilbanks with one felony charge and one misdemeanor charge for her false abduction story.

The felony charge of false statement carries a maximum sentence of five years in jail and a $10,000 fine. The misdemeanor of filing a false police report can yield a 12-month sentence and $1,000 fine. The district attorney presented the case against the 32-year-old woman to the grand jury today.

So apparently, LYING to authorites and filing a false claim of rape and abduction is against the law, and is punishable.

I'm not happy about what she did either.
But I think making her a Felon is a little much...
I think the misdemeanor is on target, along with possibly
community service and restitution

If she can't handle the stress of a wedding, I can only imagine what this will do to her.

You are right, that would have been more appropriate. I have never read that forum. I assumed it was for crimes that were not already being discussed on a thread somewhere on the BB. Thank you for pointing out to me my error. I will find my way around all of this BB eventually.:blushing:

Ok, why was the thread on this removed from Crimes in the News? It fits the bill, and Tybee has said before that if she is charged, that's where it will be discussed. Now she has been charged, so what's the problem?

Yup, the title's a bit confusing, lol, as it's from an old thread, but this is da place!

I am glad she has been charged. This little lady, IMO, has been getting away with way to much with little to no consequences. It's about time she has to take responsibility for her actions!
