Fox was just doing something on this case, and I had a long distance call from my 5 year old granddaughter...telling me about a kitty she saw! I missed it...did anyone catch what they were talking about..they had some guy on and that's all I know.

As a mother who raised four kids who were in stair steps there were numerous times that I was in a different room than my kids. I never worried about them taking off when my back was turned...probably didn't even give it a thought. How many mothers have their kids right by their sides all day long until the kids are tucked in bed??? Probably not any of us.

Kids are in the living room watching cartoons while mom is in the kitchen fixing a meal, cleaning, or doing dishes. In the bedroom making the bed or cleaning the bathroom. I don't know of any mother who stays in the same room as her kids every minute of the day. We watch them outside but our homes are supposed to be safe....and they usually are.

I don't see anything that points to the mother as of right now. So she was in another room than the kids. Sounds pretty normal to me. It's not her fault if the kids snuck outside.

Hi bobbisangel.....please don't misunderstand me. I completely agree that moms are not side by side their children during the day. I have three myself and I did not sit beside them all day long. I was a lot more likely to be in another room doing housework and getting things done. I was just curious if she was taking a nap (something I never did while my kids were those ages if it was just me here with them).

While it's possible someone did come in, I just find the whole story fishy. If she was just using the bathroom and they had wandered off she would have been able to find them as they wouldn't have been able to venture too far. Children 2 and 3 don't just run away as fast as they can...they are too distracted at that age by airplanes, bugs, etc. I just feel like the time span she was in another room might be a lot longer than just a quick bathroom break, or folding a load of clothes. I guess we'll find out more during the news conf later this morning.

At this point, Im going to withhold judgement. These are the same type of statements LE made during Jessie Lunsfords dissapearance, which led much of the public to suspect the family members. Sometimes we read far too much into what is released to the media.

Very true, but the fact that they halted the search yesterday to question the mother further made me suspicious.

WARRENTON, Ga. — Police administered a lie detector test Sunday to the mother of two missing toddlers, the children's father told FOX News.
Authorities temporarily halted the search for a 2-year-old girl and her 3-year-old-brother while state investigators questioned their mother, Lottie Kain.
The kids' dad, Dennis Payne, told FOX News that he didn't believe his fiancée did anything to hurt the children.
Payne said Kain was in the bathroom when she heard something, and when she went out the kids, Jonah and Nicole Kain (search), were gone and the door was open.
Payne also begged anyone who took the children to please give them back.
The children were reported missing Saturday evening after last being seen at their Warren County (search) home, in east Georgia about 100 miles from Atlanta.
The search, which included police, a dog team and a helicopter, was "halted for the moment" Sunday afternoon while agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (search) questioned the children's mother.

Jovin, the father was suppose to be on but canceled! And the cop on the phone said he would not comment on the LDT on the mother. The rest was the same as we already know. That's all I can remember.

I know neighbors last saw the kids at 4:00...mom says they were gone at 6:00, do we know what time she actually called the police?

They have used dogs...temps dropped to about 30.
Two children missing from the same house in such a short amount of time is where my problem comes in. We are only looking at a 2 hour window here.

Definitely. I don't remember them calling off the search for Jessica or Laci Peterson so fast unless there was inclimate weather and then the search seemed to quickly resume.

I also agree with the poster that two litle kids don't just rush off out of site that fast where the mother couldn't have gotten out of the bathroom, saw the door was open and didn't see them within how far the eye can visibly see.

Were the kids recently out playing that day? Someone said 4pm. Do kids keep shoes on for two hours?? I know my nieces and nephews take shoes off while in the house until they are ready to go somewhere. They are described as wearing specific shoes. Just wondering... I have no kids of my own so I don't know how this works. I know my shoes are off my feet as soon as I get home.

Were dogs used yet? Where does the children's scent stop??

Did the mother take them for a drive at all that day?

How close is the next neighbor?

How far away is the bathroom from the front door? I could hear my door open from any of the bathrooms in my house. I also have an alarm so all doors beep when they open, so maybe that's not a fair question to ask.

I haven't heard or read what time the police were called. That could be very telling.

As soon as I read yesterday that they'd called off the search in the afternoon, it made me very nervous about whether or not they'd caught the mother in a lie or two and now know that these kids are not going to be found alive.

I hope and pray that I'm wrong. They are so young and so innocent. No child asks to be born into this world. The parents and all of us have a duty and an obligation to make sure they are protected from harm. This doesn't seem to be happening alot of times anymore.

I just saw on Fox News that some sexual predator has taken off his tracking device and is now on the loose....I think it was Florida, but I'm not sure. Neighbours AGAIN said they weren't aware that they'd had someone like that living so close by.

So sad...

Although I too am fearful of the outcome right now, I'm not sure how much time I would spend calling out names or looking for them at that age. At 6 or 8, I may have thought they had left on their own to play elsewhere, but at 2 and 3...I think I would be assuming I had a problem.

When I heard him on Fox being interviewed by Rita Cosby, I think...maybe it was the night before...but he said he'd called home from work and heard the kids in the background as he was talking to his fiance.

Then I'm not sure how much later but I got the impression he'd said that before too long he got a call back from her saying the kids were missing. I wonder just how much time passed between those two calls.....maybe there are transcripts from that show.

The fact that he mentioned he heard the kids in the background makes me wonder if they were being extremely unruly, and the Mom was having emotional issues too with dealing with this on a regular basis.

I'm just curious why they moved from arizona to the other side of the country in georgia. Doesn't appear to be a career change? Do either of the parents have family in georgia? Could a family member have taken the children? They weren't running from someone were they?

I wish there was more info.
