I'm just curious why they moved from arizona to the other side of the country in georgia. Doesn't appear to be a career change? Do either of the parents have family in georgia? Could a family member have taken the children? They weren't running from someone were they?

I wish there was more info.

Could be, or it couldnt just be they wanted to move. We moved all the way across the country, to a place we had never been, have no family here. We just wanted to move. Hubby didnt even have a job when we moved here.

I also agree with the poster that two litle kids don't just rush off out of site that fast where the mother couldn't have gotten out of the bathroom, saw the door was open and didn't see them within how far the eye can visibly see.
It's very difficult to speculate without more information. What I'd LOVE to know is like you said, how close is the nearest neighbor AND did anyone hear the mom calling for the children?

If neighbors saw the kids playing in the yard at 4:00...I would assume they live fairly close by? meaning houses are within view anyway

Did the neighbours see the Mom in the yard with them at 4pm? I mean come on... a 2 year old is a baby, should not be out on their own with a 3 year old

Havent heard any details, but ya know...I watch around my own neighborhood, and am routinely surprised at the ages of the kids I see outside without adult supervision. I guess everyone assumes "these things dont happen around here".

We're in a pretty populated area, and our news is out of Philadelphia. People around here know this stuff happens; I guess they just never think it will happen to them. Even if some parents haven't woken up yet, the good thing that's happened lately is that a lot of them have. I think that children overall are going to be safer as a result of all of the media attention that's been focused on the problem of missing children lately. There will always be those parents that don't watch their kids, or take too much for granted. I wish there was a way to change that. But for now, if nothing else, I am happy to see a lot more people realizing that it can indeed happen to any one of us, and taking better care of our children. If the sex offender laws aren't protecting the kids, then we need to do it the best we can.

Anyone watching Fox (FNC)?? They are waiting on the presser and showing shots of the media that is set up.....looks like a very wooded area from the direction they are showing. No one knows why it is over a half hour late.

Wish it were that way here, but Ive seen kids so small they cant be over 3 years old, riding big wheels down the sidewalks here, with no adults in sight. Anyone that lives less than one and one half miles from school walks, as no buses are provided. Ive seen Kindergardeners walk to school alone.

I'm watching...the delay doesnt make me hopeful :(

JerseyGirl - I think you're right, that he is the biological father and I was wrong.

I was just surprised, since they're still together, the kids don't have his name. I've seen lots of couples where the woman doesn't take the man's name (and certainly, in cases where they don't marry, the woman wouldn't take his name), but it's a surprise to me the kids don't have his name. It just kind of threw me off.

Oh this is sooo sad. I just started reading this thread about a half hour ago from the start and I had hoped when I got to the end it was goignt o say "Toddlers found safe"....but it didn't I pray that they are ok.

Has the NC started yet....I am at work....those watching please keep us posted. Thanks

This case gets more confusing. : ( If they truly suspended the search because they were fatigued, they need more help. I don't see anywhere where they're asking the public for help - and surely the state of Georgia has resources that if this town just flat out don't have the manpower to search for two missing babies, they need to get that help from somewhere, and keep searching while there's a good chance the kids are alive and lost.

The timeframe I can find - neighbors saw them playing outside at 4 p.m., the mom called and reported them missing just before 6 p.m. That really doesn't give her a lot of time to kill them and dispose of them and call the cops.

Prayers for those sweet children.

I wasn't meaning anything dark & dangerous.. just toddlers explore, they climb up on things, touch things they shouldn't not knowing any better, pretty well impossible to toddler proof a yard for them not to get injured..

Parents should be out there with them for company and to play with them, watch them, teach them

LE spokesperson (didn't catch his title) says that all available resources are being brought in...the GBI and FBI were mentioned. All leads are being followed, they have very little to go on. An Amber Alert is not possible because they don't know if its an abduction and they have no vehicle (which is required).

Thorough search was done, heat seeking radar at night. They are getting ready to start completely over and go over everything they have searched already. Asking for anyone to call with any kind of information no matter how small....

What Im hearing .... more than one person was given a polygraph, FBI is being briefed, still looking/hoping to find the children alive.

This would lead me to believe the mother's polygraph didnt yield anything suspicious at this time. Of course, this is just my interpritation.

PC...FBI has been called in. Not answering any questions..same ole same ole.
They have calls from other states but nothing yet.
She was in the bathroom 2 to 5 minutes. They just telling about how throughly they have searched. yada yada yada
Going back over everything...just law enforcement searching today.
Gravity of situation in the 40th hour critical.

The kids' last name is actually Payne, after the father.

  • #120
Ah, the children's last name is Payne.....the parents wanted to clarify the name.
