Found Deceased GA - Kelly Nash, 25, Buford, 5 Jan 2015

It is bizarre to think he shot himself...but if the bullet turns out to match those at home and/or the gun, if it is ever found, I think he must have done so. It seems even more unlikely that he was shot with his with his own gun and put into the water, Imo.

Again, no one ever knows what is going on inside another person. We think we do, but it is not possible.
I wish this family could get solid answers but even that may not be possible. Jmo

I'm catching up here, but was the gun not found with the body? Bc if there's no gun at the scene, he did not shoot himself (imo).

Very good point. I know they aren't releasing a lot of info right now. Makes you wonder....

After reading all, almost all, the posts - I feel I want to watch this gf speak. Maybe the place to start is the ID show. I guess I can find it on YouTube ? Many of you feel that something is hinky and I'm feeling that too.

ETA: Also IF he shot himself close to, or in, the water, the gun would still be found close by the body, near, somewhere imo. And surely they searched.

I didn't see the show but i have a few questions.

It seems weird to me that he would call his gf in the middle of the night to go over the list of things he needed to pick up. What the heck was he buying at that time of the night? And how was he planning on buying things if his wallet was at home?

Where are the item(s) he purchased?

It is not known if they recovered the gun yet. I read in an early report that he owned a 9mm at one point but it was not known if he still had the weapon prior to moving into the new house. Thats weird. That was before it came out that he had a gunshot wound. Then on the ID show, the officer said Jessica told him it may be in some boxes in the basement. They later found the gun case but the gun and 1 clip were missing. I'm assuming that they haven't found it because it was said he drifted from another location to where he was found and they don't know exactly where he went in the water. It stuck out to me though that the cadaver dogs hit on his scent in the woods by lake lanier. Makes me think he was killed there and dumped off the dock into the lake. If the gun is in the lake it would be very difficult to find. Lake lanier was made by evacuating a whole town and many of the structures remain down there. Many many people have died and dissapeared in there.

If the gun went into the lake if/when he shot himself, it might not have been found. I don't think that proves anything, whether gun was found or not, since he was in water. Also, they can't be sure where he entered the water. Jmo

The surveillance footage of him at the store at 9pm is when she was on the phone with him going over the list. According to her, he returned home after that and she went to bed while he stayed up because he couldn't sleep. Her last contact with him was (according to LE) around 3:30 am when she woke up and discovered he was still playing video games and he told her he was going to bed. The last call from his phone was to her phone shortly before she says she last saw him at 330. Then around 4:30 am a shadowy figure is seen walking down the road on 2 surveillance cameras past the gas station he went to earlier in the night. It cannot be proven to be him but the gas station was about a half mile from his house and halfway between his house and his dad's house. I wish we knew for 100% sure it was him. It would in someway prove he was alone...but if it's not him...then like I said, gf knows something more.

In the surveillance footage, it seemed odd that she was on the phone with him reminding him what he needed to get at the store, all the while he's standing there staring out the door.

It's really hard to tell. Every clip I've seen, it's never the whole thing only bits and pieces.

So he called her at 3:30am??

Obviously this could be one scenario but why would she not have said they had a fight and he left? I mean the search went on for a month, were that the case she would have to know he didn't just get mad and leave to cool down.

Because maybe she really did not know he left. I didn't necessarily mean that they fought and he dramatically slammed the door and walked away.
Maybe they had the fight and then the night went down as she said. He went to bed on the couch, and her in the room.
Maybe it stirred in his head and he just really did slip out while she was asleep.

So he called her at 3:30am??

There was a call to her phone. Her voicemail picked up and there was a 28 second message left that was muffled with only a few words. LE stated that they were not sure if it was an accidental call on his part.

I'm curious where the phone call was originated and where her phone was. If they both weren't at home then that puts a hole in her story. Unfortunately only LE knows that information and they aren't talking. We can only speculate. :(

Jmo that makes me think of suicide even more. I missed this somehow. Jmo

The muffled voicemail could have been due to bad reception, and is what I call "garbeled" reception on the other end. I previously had AT&T and switched to a carrier that specifically uses Verizon towers as when atthelake as often as I was, pretty much a carrier with Verizon tower service was the only one that worked well at many locations around the lake, including the home where I was most often - which was smack dab (lol, is that a southern term?) in between his house and his fathers house on Shadburn Ferry Road.

ETA: Here is a link that folks very near to locale (Spout Springs Road and Friendship Road) commented....

Ever since ATT took over Cingular - service is HORRIBLE and getting worse constantly. Get reception in only 2 spots in the house and that isn't guaranteed. They tried to "sell" me a booster" to strengthen service - but would not guarantee it would work and it was non-returnable for refund if did not work! Contract is almost up - and switching service providers.

This is a Straight Talk plan from Walmart and it is Awesome. We travel everywhere with the phone and we have never had a problem with it. We live in Huntington West and at the bottom of the subdivision and reception is great. Have to warn you though, there are some phones that have a G in the codes and they are on a T-Mobile tower and do not work as well. You have to get the phones with C in the code for Verizon Towers.

Digital is almost non - existent in our house. Generally only 1 or 2 bars of service. We are looking at changing to another company.

Did anyone else notice how fast he was walking in the surveillance footage? could just be the poor quality of the video. I wish I could see the entire video. We're there any cars following him. It seems like it would be pretty unusual for someone to be walking at that time of night but I would like to see what kind of activity there was. Idk why I'm so obsessed with this case. I'm just craving for one more detail. Must be the mystery.

Yes, I sure did notice that. I kept trying to pause the video at the two points where the person could be seen, but it was so blurry. I must have tried that 10 times, but the pace of the person walking made it so tough to make out much. :gaah:

ETA: I went back to play the video excerpt, to make sure, re: cars. In that particular snippet, I don't see any cars following/driving by as the person walks by, but without a longer stretch of time (video), I guess that doesn't say much.

He is walking so fast, is there nothing in the video after that which may have motivated him to hurry along? It's so concerning. His poor family.
