Why do you think he didn't sign or date the second one? If it was going to be the official report he'd have to do that. JMO

No idea, but I see documents all the time that aren't signed and/or dated - I guess if they have a copy somewhere that is, then we're good. The journalist from CNN that obtained the copy could have asked......

It looks like this is a compilation of evidence forms. I see on page 6 it shows that "Two (2) blood swabs from the gym wall" were taken into evidence as item #6.

On page 19 item #17 is a buccal swab from "redacted" for DNA analysis.

Maybe the buccal swab was used to eliminate the person as being the source of the blood stains found on the gym wall.

Is this compilation of property/evidence forms complete? Are there more that haven't been released yet?

http://www.11alive.com/assetpool/documents/131030051629_Property, Evidence Forms.pdf

I know they tested the girl whose bloody paper towel it was they found in the girl's bathroom. Not sure how long it would have taken to track her down - maybe even more than one girl?

Only 3 teachers from the high school came to funeral:

After Johnson’s death Soloman and his friends say they were given the silent treatment by many of at the school. ‘It was different,’ he said. ‘They didn’t talk to us no more. We’re in the middle of everybody but not many people talk to us.’
The dead boys’ friends and family say they were also slighted when virtually every member from the high school faculty, including his coaches, were absent at the funeral.

‘Only two teachers came to K.J.’s funeral,’ Rickey told MailOnline. ‘And a substitute teacher came.’

The three teachers joined a mass of mourners; some included Kendrick’s middle school football coaches and his middle school principals, while others traveled from rival high schools and drove long distances to pay their respects. Rickey said the abandonment hurt.

This is a good point made by Dr. Anderson:

The GBI autopsy, released May 2, backed him up. That is until Dr. William Anderson performed a second autopsy in June, which showed he died from one terrific blow to his neck that caused his heart to stop. As for the GBI's assertion that KJ died from positional asphyxia, their report contradicted their conclusion. Anderson points out that if KJ died from positional asphyxia, his lungs would have filled with fluid. But the report stated, "Kendrick's lungs only weighed, 200 or 240 grams. If Kendrick died from positional asphyxia, how do we explain the absence of pulmonary adema?" Anderson wonders.

Coroner slams handling of Kendrick Johnson case

http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/07/justice/georgia-gym-mat-death/index.html?hpt=us_c2

His original report said this:

"I was not notifedi n (sic) this death until 15:45 hours. The investigative climate was very poor to worse when I arrived on the scene. The body had been noticably (sic) moved. The scene had been compromised and there was no cooperation from law enforcement at the scene. Furthermore the integrity of the evidence bag was compromised on January 13, 2013 by opening the sealed bag and exhibiting the dead body to his father," wrote Lowndes County Coroner Bill Watson in a report dated January 22.

"I do not approve of the manner this case was handled. Not only was the scene compromised, the body was moved. The integrrety (sic) was breached by opening a sealed body bag, information necessary for my lawful investigation was withheld," he said.

A second coroner's death investigation report was provided by the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office.
The second report, which is not signed nor dated, is not nearly as critical as the first.

"I was not called by investigating officers regarding this death until the afore listed time of notification," it read.

It was not immediately clear why there were two coroner's reports. The inconsistencies between them were also not clear.

Note: I see Steely had already posted this article but think it bears repeating, in view of the BBM. Did the sheriff's dept. change the coroner's report?

Thanks for this post..

I don't know how so many can be so sure it is an accident with all the contradictory evidence.

Thanks for this post..

I don't know how so many can be so sure it is an accident with all the contradictory evidence.

Perhaps the definition of positional asphyxia is unclear...it is a form of asphyxia which occurs when a persons position keeps them from breathing. This can cause death in as little as two minutes and has nothing to do with fluid filling the lungs.

School board members attended KJ's funeral as well. I don't understand the campaign to rally unfounded public outrage over attendance at KJ's funeral....it seems desperate and disingenuous when upwards of 1,000 people showed up to show support and to mourn this young man's death. IMO.

ETA: This was actually meant to comment on Reader's comment...sorry.

This. Even though I can see it hurting some feelings that "only" 3 teachers attended, why is it news?

I completely agree with you on the positional asphyxia statement. That can happen in two ways - a drowning through positional asphyxia like what happens in a crucifixion. Due to the body's position, the chest cavity fills with bodily fluids and the person drowns.

In the second type, something is pressing on the lungs and causing them to be unable to expand and breathe. In this case, the lungs are compressed and would not, in fact, fill with any fluid at all.

The second type is what the coroner is aledging happened to Kendrick. Thus, no fluid in the lungs.

This evidence speaks volumes to me, and then the organs disappeared. Cover-up.

The organs didn't disappear. Slides were made from them, and they were disposed of due to decomposition. In a cover-up, why would they make slides of them for future/further examination?

GBI is not going to cover up anything for a County Sheriff. The president of the NAACP did her own investigation- and states that it was an accident. The funeral home admitted they stuffed his body with newspaper. Too many agencies and people to make this some sort of elaborate cover up. And, imo, the saddest thing is people exploiting and using a tragic accidental death of a young man to try and further their own careers and line their pockets

I know I sound like a broken record, but what evidence (tangible evidence), is there that this was a murder?

If there was evidence of a cover up it wouldn't really be a cover up, would it?

The organs did not disappear but were disposed of as they were decomposing. GBI has slides of the organ tissue which was made available to the 2nd autopsy guy to observe. Clearly, funeral homes don't put stinky decomposing organs back in the body for burial. GBI Physician did the autopsy. The Funeral Home states that poor Kendrick's body was prepared for burial according to the ethics and standards of funeral practice. The body starts decomposing immediately after death. Georgia Bureau of Investigation has no interest in covering up this sad tragedy? The Sheriff has no sons or grandsons or even a nephew at the school so what would he be "covering up"?? What evidence, where?

I have read this allegation before. Surely, the people making these allegations should be able to back them up by providing the book that people sign when they attend a funeral or viewing.

I have been to many showers, weddings and funerals and have forgotten to sign a guest book. A guest book is not some concrete piece needed to disprove the accounts of two teenagers. Seriously.

These are not "allegations". They are KIDS giving their accounts of what they have experienced after being asked by the media.

So now they are suspect, too?

I have family members in the mortuary/funeral home business and stuffing a body with newspaper is not typical. My personal feeling is that is not nefarious, but disrespectful and shoddy.

And after asking, my understanding is that discarding organs is not typical. Usually, they are weighed, sampled if necessary, and then placed in a bag and replaced in the thoracic cavity before the Y incision is sutured back up.

"Following examination, the organs are either returned to the body (minus the pieces preserved for future work or evidence) or cremated, in accordance with the law and the family's wishes. The breastbone and ribs are also usually put back."

If there were 1,000+ people at the funeral, how would anyone know who was and wasn't there? I've been to large funerals like this and everyone doesn't sign a guest book. If your not standing next to the person or see them as you walk through the crowd, does that prove they weren't there?

What does a persons attendance at a funeral have to do anyway, with whether Kendrick died from an accident or he was murdered? It doesn't provide fact or evidence that there was a murder and this is what is needed in order to support the accusations.

This reply is from the viewpoint of a retired teacher. As a teacher, I experienced the death of both current and former students. Each and every death in the teenage years is a tragedy. It doesn't matter how the death occurred. The death itself is tragic and out of the natural order of things. I did not attend the viewing or funeral of some of the students. It is an emotional trial to visit a funeral home or church where there is literally hundreds of mourners. It is heartbreaking to try to console children when they want you to explain to them why their friend died. I will visit the family (whether I know them well or not) at their home or designated gathering place. I have observed that teenagers will go to another teen's viewing or funeral even if they do not know the other teen. If I did not personally know the teen who died, I would not attend the viewing or funeral the same as I do not attend the viewing or funerals of adults I do not know. In my rural area when a student dies, the board of education, the school administration, and teachers are represented at the funeral. Arrangements are made at the school to cover the classes of teachers who want to attend the funeral.

The late, great Johnny Cochran was the originator of the famous "rush to judgment" phrase per OJ.

Oh, _Johnnie_ Cochran, the lawyer, now deceased - the spelling threw me. My bad.
