Did anyone else notice this in the Ebony article? If proven, I thought it weird that it's the family with the fictional name who stated they didn't know Kendrick and had lawyered-up. "It was the younger Martin who had the fight with KJ and had his clock cleaned. Kendrick Johnson had a reputation of being a quiet sort, but when riled, it was like poking a hornet's nest. But the fight didn't end the animosity. During his radio interview on Oct. 11, King explained what Webster had discovered in the course of his investigation: Martin's father had invited Johnson to his house to fight his son again.

The teen declined the kind invitation."

This is a digression, but when I was a teenager, an elderly woman was found dead in her bed at home in the town I grew up in and the medical examiner came and ruled it a natural death. When authorities then uncovered the woman to remove her body, she was discovered to have several stab wounds to her abdomen and chest and her bed was covered in blood. I have been a skeptic since. That is why I love ws so much.

I also wonder why no pulmonary edema noted in lungs. KJ's lungs were normal weight at autopsy.

From same Ebony article:
Chevene also said the kid never submitted a written statement, but he did - pg 37 of the incident report (timeline thread).

Did the Martin brothers hold a grudge? Did they in some way lure Johnson into a trap at the old gym? And who delivered the fatal blow?
If they did, it would have been on the surveillance tapes.

Also, if there was a fight on the bus, there would be a video - if that video showed anything, it would be on CNN. Bus videos are not covered by FERPA.

Why would we note the absence of pulmonary edema as suspicious in a positional asphyxia case?

KM, Because it's usually one of the signs of PA and Dr Anderson (?sp) noted this. http://www.safetylit.org/citations/index.php?fuseaction=citations.viewdetails&citationIds[]=citjournalarticle_142405_36
I wish I had the materials to do a Henry Lee type study because I would get the same mat and roll it up (within a series of other rolled mats placed exactly as in the gym) and place a mannequin next to it (with the same weight/height/body type of KJ), extend the arm and see if falling in is possible. I'm hoping someone does one. I still can't wrap my head around that whole theory. Why wouldn't he have just moved the mats? A lot easier than trying to climb in or trying to fish them out...

It wouldn't have been possible for him to 'fall' in. The only way he could have ended up inside the mat would have been on purpose. He had to adjust his body to fit in order to reach his shoe - HE had to do that. No one stuffed him into the mat for the same reason.

14" with 2 or 3 inch give in the foam vs 19" shoulders - no fall, no shove, he adjusted, went for the shoe and became fatally stuck in an unmovable, soundproof death trap. JMO

It has been widely reported that the mat KJ ended up in was among 21 standing vertically in the gym.

I have asked this question before but have not seen any explanation.

The pictures of that corner of the gym show it is dimly lit. I think it would be quite difficult to see a black shoe at the bottom of a dark 6' long tube.

So how did KJ know exactly which of the 21 mats his shoe was in?

ACTUALLY, not easy at all.... and there are MANY reasons why they would not be moved...

1. EFFORT....the mats are heavy.....where would he move 21 mats to? The one he needed to get into was at the back against the wall and in the middle of the stacks.
2. TIME....he was trying to grab the shoes and get to his next class where he needed them.
3. PUNISHMENT.....any student tossing around or dumping over those mats without staff instruction would have been in big trouble. They were stacked there for a reason...to store them out of the way and allow room to use the gym for classes and activities.
4. He obviously believed he could reach and grab the shoes....most likely he had done it before on other occasions.

BBM.

I agree. I suspect KJ had done this before but something happened this time and he got stuck.

From what i understand, the mats were stored in horizontal position prior.
So he wouldn't have been trying to get the shoes out of a vertically stored mat prior to the incident.

So how did KJ know exactly which of the 21 mats his shoe was in?
The mat he was stuck in is blue - I saw a lot more yellow than blue mats on video and in photos, so that could be part of how he knew - and also deducing that his mat was on top when the mats were laid horizontally which would put his at the very back when stacked against the wall vertically.

I'm thinking this was said in one of the early reports....no source so JMO :twocents: unless someone has a link

Valdosta is nearby & my local media has followed this closely since it happened. IMO, KJ died in a freak accident & there is an explanation for each & every bombshell the "justice team" produces. It's all about money & fame. In order to incite the public & prolong their agendas, they continue to skew the details, refuse to accept the facts & allow the poor boy rest in peace. So sad.

Anyone know, without me looking, :please: how far his other blk & white shoe was from the mats?

Reasons 1 & 2 also why no one rolled him up into or super.humanly shoved him into the mat...jmo

What's so troubling is how this case has presented itself through the media and to the public/community.

Despite thousands of hours of video and thousands of pages of information that was gathered during the investigation, they are still using a photo of Kendrick out of context. They have publicly named kids and accused them of murdering Kendrick. These kids live in a small town. They have damaged the reputation of these kids and all those involved in the investigation by stating there is some kind of conspiracy to cover up his death. People have been mislead into believing that this has racist implications. It has divided the community, people have been harassed and received threats. They have no facts to back up their allegations. They have questions, a lot of which can be explained and have been answered but they haven't corrected themselves or backed off those statements that have been made and they are continuing to use them to fire people up.

Both Pastor Rose and Leigh Touchton (former NAACP president), have given many years of their lives to the community to fight for justice. They both did their own extensive investigation into KJ's death. They both spoke out on their findings and because they spoke the truth of what they found and it differed from those that are involved in this campaign are using to fuel the fire, they to have been thrown under the bus after all these years of service they provided to the community.

Like I said, this is a small community, that has become divided and I would hate to live in that community right now, let alone be employed by LE, the school, related to an accused, etc.

They are not going to stop or be satisfied, until someone is convicted of his murder?

There are only two ways that I see anyone being convicted in this case. Either someone confesses or it's caught on video. There are no facts, or evidence presented so far, after all this time, that indicate this was anything other than an accident.
