The LaGrange Police Department is investigating after human remains were found on Fulton Street Thursday afternoon.

Lt. Dale Strickland with the LPD said a group of ATV riders came across the remains Thursday around 5 p.m. near the railroad tracks that run parallel with Greenville Street.
Since it was nearly dark when the call came in, the process of recovering the remains was ongoing Friday.

“Once it is recovered, it will go to the GBI crime lab, and they’ll begin the process of whatever they need to do to assist us in identifying the [remains],” Strickland said.
Strickland said [the remains] had “been there for some time.” He estimated the remains were from a person who had been dead for at least a year, if not longer.

I've submitted Kyle via Doe Network. I can only imagine in this town they're already connecting the dots, but figured submitting him could do no harm.

Well, with so little to go on as of now, there is this cold, cold case:

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/426/

More info:

http://charleyproject.org/case/kyle-wade-clinkscales

Good possibility indeed, creepedout:

Kyle Wade Clinkscales

Missing Since 01/27/1976
Missing From LaGrange, Georgia
Classification Endangered Missing
Date of Birth 10/02/1953 (64)
Age 22 years old
Height and Weight 5'11, 156 pounds
Clothing/Jewelry Description A denim or suede jacket, a multi-colored blue shirt with a white tie, and denim pants.
Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Brown hair, hazel eyes.
Clinkscales has previously fractured his ring finger. He may have a mustache.

But there's this:

"In 1987, a man in Troup County, Georgia found Clinkscales's Exxon credit card in the Flat Shoal Creek area. Investigators searched the vicinity where the card was found but turned up no other evidence. In 2005, a man called Clinkscales's parents and told them that in 1976, when he was seven years old, he had witnessed the disposal of Clinkscales's body. The body, the informant said, had been covered with concrete, stuffed in a barrel, and dumped in a pond on private property."

They most likely will do exactly that, but it never hurts to submit, as you said. One of my good friends is from LaGrange, from what he's told me it's your normal small southern town, quiet and not much going on (hence why he's now living in California!) Hopefully they will be able to determine if he matches any local missing persons quickly. It would be incredible if it is Kyle Clinkscales, for so many years he was right in the middle of town. In addition it make sense the town could get an UID from someone dumping a body off of I-85, but "Greenville St by the railroad tracks" is not conveniently right off of I-85 according to google maps.

By the sounds of it, it would be incredible if it is anyone else. Because if it isn't Kyle it's difficult to imagine who it could be. Either there's someone else missing in town (which would be known about, surely?) or some complete stranger got very unlucky while passing through.

Stephen Lankester-Cox should be easy to rule out or id as he has a healed fracture of his right kneecap and screws in his left elbow.

Thank you so much for the list. I thought we were looking for males. Did you put in the women to because of the suitcase with skeleton findings in Georgia?

Ok, i can't find it, but a few months ago WS was asking for our help in locating a missing man. Large man, I want to say from Florida. Had not deposited any checks or took money from account, sorta a drifter type guy. Does anyone know who I am talking about?

I looked at this early this morning and I may have missed it, but I was not aware that gender had been disclosed.

Many of those cases seem out of the way from Lagrange, though I suppose any location is possible if they were in a car. LaGrange is close to Interstate-85. It is also close to the Alabama state border: https://www.google.com/maps/place/F...0ebfa7a3e8d1f2!8m2!3d33.0449898!4d-85.0043442

Perhaps we should look at Alabama cases as well?

I do know when the skeletal remains were found in 2009 at about the Troup Co/Harris Co GA line they checked MPs into Alabama.

It is certainly not unusual for people (including Kyle Clinkscales) to commute into or out of a major metropolitan area like Atlanta. Especially those in more rural small cities like LaGrange.
