GUILTY GA - Laila Daniel, 2, beaten to death, McDonough, 17 Nov 2015 *foster parents arrested*

I'm too nervous to watch.

Please Jury look at the medical reports, the pictures, all the important evidence. Remember the 22 injuries to Laila's head an neck alone. And give justice to the sisters!

Prosecution Closing Argument

Wow. Ms Young sewed it all up. What a fine, dedicated, passionate and principled prosecutor. That was moving, and I like a person who tells it like it is.

There are no hiding places from Ms Young! She got the measure of the Rosenbaums, and their witnesses.

Ms Young had me in tears during several parts of her closing. She connected the dot on things I hadn’t even considered, and listened to all the evidence. That was a standing ovation-level argument.

I agree, Tortoise and Melissa1967,
that was great. Fiery Dasha Young, thank you!

I am just now getting to watch Dasha's rebuttal closing statement. I was hoping Dasha would be giving the final statement, she is very passionate about her quest for justice for Laila and Millie. I applaud the entire prosecution team for a superior job and acting with the highest standards.

Also, I realize Corrine is not the favorite, most defense attorney's aren't in cases like this, and she did not have a whole lot to work with... deep down I think she knows her clients are guilty. But she is just doing her job. I have sometimes wondered if the weak defense was in part because she didn't feel her clients deserved to walk free. Not a popular opinion I am sure, but rather a thought.

Defense Closing Argument

Ms Young talking about Millie:
25.50 minutes into video

"And I think it was really important, they showed her, I don't know how many pictures, and I've been doing this for a long time and I do child cases, never have I seen a defense attorney put a child through almost an hour long cross-examination. It's distasteful, and it made me angry. Why would you put that child up there and make her look at picture after picture of probably the most horrific time of her life? That's just how little humanity you have."

Jury Instructions

On the day of Millie's testimony (day 3) Jennifer's body language was very interesting. It was the only day of the trial where Jennifer sat at the far end of the defendants' table, furthest point away from the witness stand, trying to hide her face with her hair, her body turned slightly away from the court. I think Jennifer was very uncomfortable and scared to face the only witness who could testify to what happened to her behind closed doors, inside the house of horrors.

All other days she has sat right next to the counsel and Joseph gets put on the end.

Screenshots - click to enlarge. First one shows her on the day Millie testified.

So important to mention! For Millie:)
These little girls were not only physically but also emotionally and mentally abused. They were used and abused by this couple.
An outstanding Prosecution Team!

I went back and reviewed the cross examination of Millie. Unless half an hour was cut out of the video that was posted in this thread, it appears that the prosecution and defense spent the same amount of time questioning this little girl?

and yes, Jen's body language was very odd. I noticed that the first time as she sat there playing with the bottle of water.

we can only hope the jury will now step up so that justice can be served. I dont see how they couldn't with such a strong case on behalf.of the state.

Oh, maybe I misspelled Ms. Young's first name? Is it Daysha?

I don´t think so.
The lawyers I know are pretty cynical.

you dont think so, what?

Sorry

And I don´t believe this. Because lawyers learn to handle it emotionally over the years. And C.M. is an experienced lawyer.

edit: Wow, just seen her homepage

gotcha. i was confused because your statement following "i dont think so" contradicted what i assumed you didnt think.

i formed my opinion based on a handful of times she would refer to Jennifer as an abuser... in which one of those times the witness being questioned stated "I didnt call Jennifer an abuser, you called her the abuser!" o_O talk about freudian slip!

I dont feel she is experienced the way she handled that trial, Or she is but she didnt have a lot to defend in this case (imo, more likely).

can you kindly share the link to her homepage?
