She is having a field day!

Who said the jury is reading or looking at anything, or ignoring judge's instructions?

Did she ask for them to be sequestered?

  • #343
Is this the case where the judge never (or rarely) mentioned the jury isn't supposed to listen to the media?

  • #344
Mull : 'Media has violated rule 22. Deputy is typing on Justice for Laila'.

  • #345
The juror and the reporter need to be held in contempt for lying to the judge.

  • #346
Mull: 'Ashley Willcott on Law & Crime panel. She said these people are guilty. As a judge she shouldn't be saying that'.

'We ask court to grant us a mistrial. too much information inflammatory and prejudicial.'

Eddie Chase/State - There is nothing to say jury has seen this media or notifications turned on. No indication from jury they have seen this. They understand importance of abiding by their duty - (self reported yesterday) - defense is grasping at straws. Re deputy in courtroom she had no contact with jury. Willcott - seems far-fetched.

IMO, state is shady if they don't ask for the lying juror to be removed

  • #349
Now they are talking about substituting the juror - he will be moved to alternate pool. And addressing sequestration.

If it gets to end of day they will talk about putting them in a hotel. For now they will be sequestered at breaks and lunch.

State asked for juror to be removed. Judge wants to move him to alternate status.

  • #351
They are putting in juror 95. Will have to start deliberations over. Motion for mistrial denied. Juror 76 now being moved to alternates.

Jury bailiff Bobby will be collecting everyone's phones.

#RosenbaumTrial -
@AJC reporter @alexisnews wrote a letter to the court regarding her contact with a juror yesterday:

#RosenbaumTrial - "Please accept my sincerest apologies for causing unnecessary drama in the courtroom today. I was simply exchanging pleasantries with this man. He talked much more to me than he let on in court. Regardless I feel awful about ever opening my mouth. "I take my work seriously. I would never want to disrupt the judicial process."

So Jen's been watching Judge Ashley Willcott. I'll have to watch it myself now, since Jen was clearly very upset.

I just reviewed a few videos over the course of the trial. When the jurors are brought back into the courtroom the judge never asked if they had viewed any media or talked to anyone about the case. No surprise they are having this issue now.

What a mess!! So no one likes Jennifer Rosenbaum and all the articles when you google her name are negative. And the jurors could have read them so that's grounds for a mistrial?

Personally I am of the opinion that jurors can remember very simple instructions like not reading about the case or talking to anyone about the case, without being constantly reminded. They knew they needed to report what happened yesterday.

Another juror question.

Judge is not going to let them use their cellphones or laptops during breaks. Discussing how families can get in touch with them if there is an emergency.

Same and I've always thought it was overkill in every single other trial I've watched where the judge has given the instruction and then asked if they complied.
