I'm guessing that the DA & Chief of Police are not telling all they know. When they are satisfied that they've built a definitive case, then they'll tell us just enough of what they know to make most folks say, "yep, he did it" (whether "he" is SMD or somebody else).

Our Mayor is a retired Lawyer himself.
There so many unconfirmed rumors flying around it is getting very hard to keep up. I did speak to an attorney. I deal with on a normal basis for my job and asked why a superior court judge issued the search warrant and his response was that was the only judge that would issue it. THIS ATTORNEY. IS IN NO WAY ASSOCIATED WITH THIS CASE AND HIS STATEMENT SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN AS FACT. I believe him and trust his judgement but he could be wrong.
Those bags the le carried out of mcds apartment appeared to be clothing or bed sheets?
What's Interests me is the conversations the officers were having. The Mic on the camera picked up small bits listen closely to it. You can here K9unit and a few other items toward. The end of the video.
Video is at www.13wma.com. Title is police search mcds apartment for second time.

My first instinct was that Winters wanted to put the request for warrant in Judge Self's office because he felt that it would lend add'l weight/suspicion when it came to the bond hearing that was scheduled (now canceled) for today. THIS IS MY OPINION I obviously have no idea if all other judges declined to issue the warrant for search, but the magistrates are a pretty low key crowd and I'd be surprised if anyone would give Winters much push back given the gravity of this case .

You're right. The rumors are flying. I actually ended up taking my kids to the lake this afternoon just to force myself to unplug and get back to life! :-)

One other question.. My curiosity was piqued and I have been meaning to ask but have always gotten sidetracked.. Just now in revisiting your tumblr blog to view your photos I, again was reminded of what had originally piqued my curiosity.. So before I am again sidetracked a d forget to ask.. Might you share any of the info that the local that contacted you thru your blog has shared with you? Sorry if it comes across as being nosy, but moreso as I said my curiosity piqued especially by your response to the local stating that if in fact true that you were stunned at whatever the local had shared with you..(of course you can always just tell me to butt out and mind my own business..lol.. But definitely had to atleast ask..)

That was I. In the early stages of the case I searched for information and stumbled on Angelanalyzes tumblr. It was the first thing I could find after hearing crazy rumors from reputable sources. Then I came across this forum and saw she was posting here about the time I was having a fit to find people to talk to about this whole tragedy. Eventually I got registered here and have since posted just about everything I've heard. The most shocking thing was all the rumors I have heard from different people about multiple bodies. But a bunch of the stuff I heard has never even been hinted at. Like a bunch of other people have said, people are talking around here. It's hard to know what to believe and what to throw out (I will say quite a bit has proven true, so... I'm not a total dumdum, right?).

Even though I lean towards McD, I am still on the fence. Seriously, I don't take myself too seriously because at the end of the day I'm just a curious mind, with little for answers.

Thanks for. Confirming. The rumor mill lol. I have even heard That a body part was found. Near Haddock ga. That's northeast of Macon near milledgville ga. That rumor actually gave me pause bc of the running group guy making reference to a trail in milledgville but the rumor has yet to be proven. Oh well just gotta keep searching and digging for the truth.

Just a couple of tidbits I haven't seen mentioned.

http://www.13wmaz.com/news/article/135483/4/Police-Chief-No-Arrest-Imminent-in-Lauren-Giddings-Case

He said they still haven't gotten forensic test results from the FBI, although they've exchanged emails with the federal investigators. Police said they thought they would have results back this Monday or Tuesday, but now say they don't think they'll get a full report this week.
The FBI is testing evidence for traces of blood, fibers, DNA and fingerprints. Some evidence was flown to their headquarters in Quantico, and other items were shipped overnight, Burns said
.

Police also processed McDaniel's car, he said.

Interesting comments from the downstairs neighbor.

Wednesday afternoon, nibbling a slice of bologna while a “Bonanza” rerun played in the front room of her two-bedroom apartment, Spencer said that during the three and a half years she and her son have lived there, she occasionally heard McDaniel, who lived there most of that time, “run from one room to the other. ... And, oooh, he could curse. My goodness.”

Spencer said he drove a dark-blue import, perhaps a Subaru, with a “Pray” bumper sticker on the back.
Why am I not surprised. She also said she could sometimes hear him playing a video game. No bombshell there, either.

She said she sometimes heard him playing what sounded like a video game.

“He’d be up there cursing, ‘Go ahead, you S.B.!’ ... talking to the game,” Spencer said.

Our first glimpse into McD's life. Nothing that unusual or bizarre, just interesting.

Jinx Bessie!

Same article says the 66 yo neighbor was home most of the time and did not hear anything the night Lauren went missing. If McD was overly active, going in and out, moving around a lot wouldn't she have noticed?

In this story, they mention that they have taken the refrigerator, and sealed off the apartment below LG's. When I drove by the apartments today on my way home from work, I thought I saw one of those "Do Not Enter" stickers on that door. Now I know why.

Possible 2nd POI??

Late Wednesday afternoon, investigators removed a refrigerator from the ground-floor apartment next door to Spencer’s for further forensics testing. That apartment, No. 1, is directly below Giddings’, and police have now sealed it.
Its tenant was in the process of moving during the time Giddings was missing, Bush said. Most of the furnishings had been removed before Giddings’ body was found, and the tenant has since finished moving out.

If the downstairs neighbor could hear him playing a video game & hear him cursing and running, wouldn't you think she could hear him dismembering a body??? Wouldn't you need power tools for that??? (sorry to be so graphic)

How and where did McD get that master key?

Building owner says only he, the other co-owner and the property manager have master keys. There have been two property managers in three years. Was McD friendly with one of those property managers? Maybe have access to their key ring at one time or another?

The kicker is that in one of those news stories I read, it said the apartments he took the condoms from were unlocked? Is that just what McD said? Where did the reporter get that info I wonder?

ETA; The apartments also have security alarms. If he was entering apartments, how would he know if the alarms were set?

I'm curious if the apartments McD stole the condoms from had male or female tenants. Also wondering if anyone has any theories on what possible info the FBI provided LE to prompt another search of McD's apartment. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts!

respectfully snipped

I was certain I read somewhere that the tenant of one apartment McD burglarized was male and the other female, but now I cannot find the article to confirm. If the object of his quest was condoms, I'm wondering whether McD entered other apartments besides those, but didn't find what he was looking for. He reportedly has a master key to all of the units, so the apartments wouldn't necessarily need to be locked, and how would he know beforehand which apartments to search?

An interesting item from this article:

http://www.macon.com/2011/07/13/1629505/police-back-inside-mcdaniels-apartment.html

Meanwhile, police reports obtained Tuesday by The Telegraph reveal some details regarding McDaniel’s alleged burglary of the two apartments.

The reports, completed hours apart during the early hours of July 1 when McDaniel was arrested, say McDaniel stole a pair of condoms -- one from each of the dwellings he is suspected of entering. No other items are listed as stolen.

Doesn't this suggest that McD confessed to the 2nd burglary hours after he confessed to the first? I think the confessions came only after hours of intense questioning, so McD wasn't being very forthcoming with LE.
