Saw this on my local news website, the remains were found yesterday. A t-shirt from an MLK memorial event in 2008 was also found.

I know that y'all keep up so well with the missing, so do any of you have an idea who this may be? I don't remember any black females missing in that particular area.

The article has been updated to say that the police now say that they believe the woman was 19-22 years old (narrowed age parameters) and that she had been dead for "about three months".

That would rule out all the possibles I listed previously.

Her age: 16 to 22
Her height: 5-8 to 6-0 feet

And there were no cavities or fillings in her teeth.

Athena had tats and piercings. Her dentals have been entered, but I couldnt see them on the listing.

from your article, Summer, they indicate they are using DNA to cross reference and rule their top three in or out.

Athena has dental records on file...way faster I would think? Unless she isnt one of the top three. Someone has to know if she has any cavities.

She was identified as Chelsea M. Walker, a 17-year-old black female. Her cause of death was undetermined due to skeletonization.

“Her father and her uncle actually attended that event in 2008 and brought shirts home from that event,” he tells WSB’s Sandra Parrish.

The family told police Walker couldn't swim and Smith says she may have drowned if the creek was swollen.
