And is .8 miles from the entrance to the neighborhood that Savannah Smith lived in with her boyfriend.

Did they drop the charges against Maurice or is there doubt about his guilt?? It certainly wouldn't be the first time the violent boyfriend was actually innocent and a serial killer was responsible. Or that charges were dropped and it wasn't reported in the media.

The last I saw he was charged with murder but there really hasn't been a lot of coverage on her since her funeral. I'm sure others have heard something more though?

Hi group. I'm new here. I live near Lori. Gail Moody lived just about a mile or two from there. It is a community based of people on and the roads around John Wells Rd. The place where the body was found is about 7 to 10 miles from John Wells Rd but still within the area if you think about "country miles"; your neighbors aren't necessarily always within reaching distance. I have also heard multiple reports that other remains were found within the same area but no confirmation yet. The cases are eerily alike.

on july 19th 2009 kenneth became the second person to write on lori's facebook wall after she joined july 14 2009.

and that same day kenneth wrote on lori's wall she changed her relationship status to "in a relationship with nathon arrowood".

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP)-- A coroner says the body of a Fort Stewart soldier's wife who had been missing for several days has been discovered in Long County.

Long County coroner Emmett Patterson told the Associated Press a body found Wednesday in a wooded area near a rural highway was identified as that of 42-year-old Lori Arrowood.

"Asked if Lori knew her accused murderer, Special Agent Ward said, “Yes, they lived in the same small community and they had mutual friends. He’s no stranger to Ms. Arrowood.”

According to Special Agent Ward, Correctional Officer Lumpkin was taken into custody Tuesday evening and is being charged in Lori’s murder.

Special Agent Ward said, “The officer charged in the murder is not a badge-carrying deputy as has been reported. He is a corrections officer and he has been charged in her death.”

This is so horrible!!!! :-( In the pictures of her with her husband, she looks soooo happy, like someone whose lifelong dream had finally come true. So much in love.

This is just heartbreaking especially since she and Nathan were still newlyweds, having just married last October.

My heart just breaks for these two girls.....

Interesting that article states that "electrical repairman reported as last person seeing her alive at 12:30".......and now he is the perp! :furious:

Very, very sad and heartbreaking. Lori's children lose their mother and her husband must come home from Iraq to bury his wife. And to think she knew and trusted this monster in her home. :cry:

I started reading here last night about Lori's disappearance, and something just felt wrong with the timeline and the friend's phone call at 1:20pm when Lori says she isn't feeling well, etc. It just seemed by the various reports that what Lori told her could very well mean the perp was actually in the house at the time. And he was. :furious: MOO
