Identified! GA - Macon, skeletal remains in woods, Dec'10 - Hilda Collins

JMOO, but this jewelry does not look like that of a child or even a young woman. Are there older women in the area who are missing?

I was thinking that too. I know years and years ago there was an older woman kidnapped and held for ransom and the note came postmarked from Atlanta Georgia. Although a lady supposedly came forward about having been paid to fly to Atlanta and mail the letter. I always wondered if they traveled to Georgia by car and buried her then mailed the letter and that claiming to mail a letter was a lighter sentence than admitting they buried her in GA.

I cannot think of her name. Something about paying the ransom to a ring or school picture company to restore people to the state they were in before bad business dealings or something. And I remember something about the letter from the lady saying she would be buried alive in a cellar or wall alive if her husband did not pay the ransom.

I will look for her in a bit, have to finish something else first.

Thank you for posting the photos, hollye.

This woman was last seen in 2001 wearing "a ring within a ring," which is exactly how I'd describe the middle ring found in that dowel rod in the photo of the UID's jewelry:

However, at 5'6" it's doubtful her remains could be mistaken for those of a child. Distance is also nearly three hours away.

That looks like adult jewelry to me as well. Thank you for posting the picture.

I agree. And the ring on the left is worn very thin - like it's been worn for years. What are the ring sizes? That should give a clue if she was heavy or thin. Mentally, I picture that jewelry on a heavy-set middle-aged lady.

I do think the jewelry looks like something an older woman might wear, however how many teens or preteens who can not afford their own jewelry might choose to wear their moms, or something left from a deceased family member.

If the skull is reportedly small, I'm thinking a child, minor, or someone with a medical issue of somekind where they might be small stature.
