The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) issued a news release on Wednesday, April 10, requesting information to possibly identify the female woman found floating by a boater in the Darien River on April 3.

GBI has provided an artist’s sketch of the black female and a description of the woman being between 25 and 40 years of age, 5’4″, and weighing 245 pounds. When she was discovered at approximately 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, she was wearing a black dress and has a tattoo on her right forearm that reads, “Dreams are Manifestations of our Identities”.

Darien Police Department and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources asked the GBI to assist in the investigation concerning the identity of the woman.
Anyone with information about the possible identity of the female as asked to contact the GBI, (912) 729-6198 or the Darien Police Department, (912) 437-6644.

MCINTOSH COUNTY, Ga. - Georgia investigators have identified a body found earlier this month in McIntosh County as that of a Florida woman.

The body of Sammeka Barriner, 29, of Broward County, was discovered April 3 in the Darien River, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The agency said investigators are currently working with the Broward County Sheriff's Office in the hopes of finding out what led up to Barriner's death.

The investigation revealed that while traveling north on Interstate 95, Sammeka Barriner and Shon May-Stone stopped at the Darien exit at an unknown area. While there, Shon May-Stone believed Sammeka Barriner had died and therefore left her there without seeking any medical assistance and in possession of Sammeka Barriner’s belongings.

A warrant has been issued for Shon May-Stone for one count of Concealing the Death of Another. At this time Shon May-Stone has not been arrested but law enforcement is actively seeking her. The autopsy findings are still pending and additional charges could be forthcoming.

Apparently the suspect is listed as absconded from her pre-trial diversion program for other offenses in KY.
