How can it not be suspicious when a dentist simply disappears, not notifying her work or husband that is leaving, leaves her car abandoned, and does not take her phone? Seems to be the definition of suspicious. I mean does she do this often?!

What may seem suspicious to us, may not meet the standards of suspicious to LE. Adults can legally dissappear themselves anytime they want, for however long they want. It sounds like they are not yet finding any evidence that her disappearance was against her will.

not sure whether to read "foul play is not suspected" as "foul play is not necessarily suspected" or "foul play is not our lead theory".

if the second one, they apparently think this is either voluntary disappearance, accident, or lost and disoriented for whatever reason. and it's hard for me to imagine how it could be either of the latter two at a busy shopping center and she would go unnoticed and undiscovered for this long.

i assume there's a ton of camera coverage at and around that shopping center, and they are pulling it now. it seems likely they will find something, but who knows whether it will help locate her or just lead to more questions.

I believe t he report said her car was found behind a business on Barrett Parkway not in the shopping center.

MOO- to make a point of saying foul play is not suspected, when a Dr goes missing from her home means they have some other angle they are working on. Foul play should be automatically suspected in this case.

Glad you joined us, as I always enjoy your thoughts on these cases.
What is your opinion of her husband reporting her missing on the 13th? That is what Cobb County LE told reporters.
Also being reported that he had the car towed from the parking lot in Kennesaw back to the home.
IMO.
We usually go to the spouse/significant other first when we have a married person missing or murdered. Unfortunately, it is much more likely that a victim is related to the accused. It is much less likely to have a random stranger abduct someone.
I’m wondering if some of the reporting is confusing date reported vs date missing. I wonder if Dr Nadler’s office called her husband when she didn’t show up for work on Tuesday. Between them they may have pinpointed when she was last seen or heard from. Was it when she left work or maybe she called her husband on the way home.
The husband seems to be cooperating fully - granting access to the home etc. It will be simple enough to verify his alibi.
Because there are no obvious signs of foul play, LE at this point will state that. She is an adult who can leave if she wants to. However, you can bet they are digging in behind the scenes to check out her recent demeanor at work, was something troubling her, were either her or her husband having an affair, or anything else that might be amiss.

I see some of these questions have been answered in recent posts. ETA

Well that's good to hear. I was hoping that the statements "there are no signs of foul play" and "the disappearance has not been determined to be suspicious" does not mean that LE is fine with everything and that there is nothing to see here. Perhaps LE is purposely trying to to put people at ease if you know what I mean.

Officers said they found Litt’s cellphone powered off in her work bag near the front door.

The report said Litt’s car and her wallet were not at the house, but that officers didn’t find anything suspicious or signs of foul play.

Officers said her husband arrived at the home but didn’t find any missing items and noted that valuables, such as Litt’s wedding ring and passport, were in a safe.

Maybe she left a note to indicate there was not an abduction. If someone was trying to “hide” her car it seems like the worst place to do it since it a very busy area. If she drove it and abandoned it, she will be picked up on one of the nearby cameras walking away.

The cameras could also pick her up willingly getting into another vehicle.

If she was at the Dallas location of the dental practice, her car was found about 35 minutes away (depending on traffic, it's a very busy area).
IMO and know the area.
Glad we have someone who is close by -- that may be a big help. <sigh>
It's bothersome that she doesn't have her phone.
Too many days gone...

I wonder if she only has one phone. Many people have a personal phone and one used for business purposes. Her occupation most likely wouldn't be the typical to have a business phone but we really don't know much about her hobbies. Did she thrift for re-sale as an example.

As her phone was found by police at her home during the welfare check, possibly she went back home from work, then
Either went out again maybe for groceries given the potential location of her car in the parking lot suggested in this thread.
Or
She went missing from home. Someone else brought her car there.

The car was found undisturbed.

The Cobb Place shopping center, if this is it, closes at 9pm. On 13 Oct, sunset was at 7.05 pm and civil twilight at 7.30 pm. Source: Sunrise and sunset times in Atlanta, October 2025

The disappearance being out of character supports the idea that this wasn’t voluntary IMO, but who knows.

Solely based on the information out there, the scenario of foul play or unplanned adverse event rather than voluntary disappearance come more easily to my mind. The reason:

The car abandoned in a parking lot rather than at home or a house suggests something unexpected happened. It’s described as very out of character. A professional with family who fails to show up for work and disappears immediately is more consistent with something going wrong than a quiet exit.

Hopefully there are a lot of cctv available.

Questions:
-was the phone left at home because it needed charging?
-Or did she not expect to leave and was taken from her home by someone she opened the door to?
-What digital trace did she leave?
-Whom did she call or text last ?
-Who really saw her last and when?
-do cctv show her parking at the mall even if dark? Ot is the car parked in a zone without cctv? sighlots are vulnerable spots at night.
-any personal stressors we’re not aware of? Medical condition, family crisis, that would make her want to leave and break a well established routine?
Good post, thanks.
Hoping for good news soon. <sigh>

Indeed.
Her not having her phone bothers me -- lots. I just can't see a professional person not having it at work, especially. Assuming she drives to/from work by herself -- many of us do -- that's a worry.
Would like to know if this has happened before...
Wondering what her family are thinking.

Of course I'm sure LE is looking into any disgruntled patients. Peopled are so upset with healthcare and healthcare bills these days.
