Cobb County dentist reported missing, has not been seen since Monday, friends say​

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Family and friends are looking for a woman who has not been seen since Monday.

Cobb County police confirmed that Melanie Nadler Litt was reported missing on Oct. 13 and that the case is being “actively investigated by detectives.”

Friends tell Atlanta News First that the Cobb County dentist did not show up for work on Tuesday and went missing from the Kennesaw-Marietta area. They said her phone was at home, and her car was found in a “large parking lot” on Barrett Parkway."

Nadler is described as 5 foot, 1 inch with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Friends also stated that her husband was out of state at the time she went missing and that he was the one who reported her disappearance to authorities.

I wonder if her teenage son called dad who then reported her missing while he was out of state?

While it is said that she lives with her husband and teenage son, I thought I had seen where he had graduated and is away at college. I could be mistaken. I'll see if I can find that again.

Friends tell me Dr. Nadler’s husband was out of state when she vanished. Dr. Nadler was allegedly last seen at her home on Monday night.

Friends tell me her husband reported her missing.

Cobb County Police confirm this is an active investigation. CCPD said a missing person report was filed on Oct. 13.

At this point, they’re not putting out any details other than they are investigating Dr. Nadler’s disappearance.

A mysterious disappearance of a metro Atlanta dentist.

Dr. Melanie Nadler didn’t show up for work on Tuesday morning.

Dr. Nadler works at Family Dentistry at Seven Hills in Dallas, Georgia.

Dr. Nadler’s vehicle was found abandoned in a parking lot off Barrett Parkway.

She has a son and is married.

Dr. Nadler grew up in Brooklyn, NY. She has resided locally in Marietta since 2004 with her husband, son, and two birds.

Dr. Nadler has been an active participant with the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer since 2009. For the past several years her son has joined her in walking 30 miles to help raise funds for breast cancer.

Anyone who has seen Dr. Nadler is asked to call 911 immediately.

The son is 21 and away at college in NC, I believe.
Very local to me, one of the offices she works at is in my town, and she is very well loved and respected in Cobb and Paulding counties.
I have many, many questions, and am trying to ignore the sinking feeling in my stomach.

We can't sleuth the family but based on an article I found about a 7th grade scholastic work of her son (her only child) did, he would be around 20 years old now.

Melanie is a well-known dentist in the Kennesaw-Marietta, GA area. Melanie moved to Marietta in 2004 with her husband and teenage son. She was last seen leaving work in the West Cobb Marietta area on Monday, October 13th, in the evening. Her car was found in a large parking lot not too far away on Tuesday afternoon on Barrett Parkway. She does not have her phone. If she was at the Dallas location of the dental practice, her car was found about 35 minutes away (depending on traffic, it's a very busy area).
IMO and know the area.

Edited: initial news article have been updated to say she does not have her phone rather than she left without her phone (which means it could have been in her car and she did not return home first before going missing)

I believe it's Cobb Place shopping center in Kennesaw.

It’s very weird! Barrett Parkway is one of the busiest areas in Cobb County. I can’t imagine anyone leaving a vehicle there thinking they wouldn’t be on a camera or seen by more than a few people.
