I saw but that I don't think it's illegal, is it? Just tasteless, as well as a slap in the face to the families of his victims. I'm surprised how many people are saying that they're proud of him, that they'd be proud to be him, "free Jamie", etc... I mean, seriously?!? Scary.

I am wondering how many posters on this FB page are in Athens? Has anyone checked that? These posters might be from all over the US.

The Atlanta Journal has a series of pictures from the officer's funeral. I thought this one was very touching... God bless his wife and children.

I checked a few names on this site this morn and yes, the ones I checked were from Athens, GA.

There is a rebuttle site on facebook "Shutdown Jamie Hood Fansite" Fox 5 Atlanta reported on this site at 5pm today. Their mission is have the violent site shutdown.

"Jamie Hood (fan site)" is filled with threats, racist remarks, and vulgar language.

Fox 5 Atlanta will air again at 10pm and Shutdown Jamie Hood Fansite is hoping to have 10,000 members by 10pm. If any of you wish to click on like, here is the FB page.

This man is going to get the death penalty.

Why? Because he deserves it and the aggravating factors supports it.

It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with what he did.

We have lost so many officers in the line of duty due to ex-felons being on the streets that are still continuing to commit crimes.

Yeah, they all try to make it seem like they are the victims of the big bad police. (GAG)

Its obvious who the bad guys are in these type of cases. The criminal ..that's who.

Prayers for the families of those affected by this senseless tragedy.

I totally agree. I also don't think one sin is the same as another, as many are writing on his personal FB page. Murder and telling a lie = same? No...

You reminded me of something else. I was reading about another case and how the drug dealers were upset that someone was on the loose b/c the dragnet slowed down their business. Well... when I was reading on FB about this case, I saw that the student I am FB friends with is also FB friends with a few other folks who were my students (I knew them about 20 years ago, as 1st-graders...). I followed the FB trail to one of their pages, and this other student of mine was saying he wanted it to be over b/c it was slowing down 'the money'. There was also a picture on his FB of him with stacks and stacks of money. :no:

I can't point out the other one b/c it's not anyone associated with this crime, nor is he listed as a friend of Hood's even. He is a former student of mine who is FB friends with another student of mine (FB friends with me), who *is* FB friends with Hood... It was just a side note I was making. Sorry for the confusion!

Thanks for the suggestion - it never dawned on me to get involved. I took screen shots of everything I thought may be relevant and contacted them today. Whoever I needed to speak with was not in, so I had the option of leaving a voice mail or calling in the morning when more folks would be in. I chose to wait so that I can speak with an actual person.

Good job belimom! I have always supported being an advocate for LE and tried my best to assist and teach others to assist. Community policing (in these internet days) can come from far and wide. Thank you.
