WINDER, Ga. -- A man has been missing since April 22 and law enforcement is asking for the public’s help finding him.

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office released a BOLO for Peter Craig Jutras, 38. His ex-wife reported him missing on May 6 but told authorities that he hasn’t been seen since April 22, 2019 in Winder, Ga.

Jutras is described as 5’11, 160 lbs with brown hair and green eyes.

Very interesting comments and replies on that post from the Barrow County Sheriff's Office. It sounds like they have two different Sheriff's Offices involved, as his vehicle was found in the 2nd jurisdiction?

I also found an incarceration record for a Peter Craig Jutras of Winder, Georgia, but without a birthdate, I am hesitant about linking.

Circumstances of Disappearance Peter had alienated himself from his family. His car was found abandoned soon after his disappearance. His whereabouts are still unknown. All leads on the case have gone cold at this time.

In 2018 Peter asked who wanted to go off grid with him. It seems he was also going through a rough if not even violent breakup at around the same time. I wonder what was going on in his life between when he stopped posting in Sep 2018 through his disappearance in Apr 2019? The comments on BCSO's post may hold clues that hopefully are being investigated. I'm not quite convinced he left voluntarily.

Looking through online records for Barrow County, the date he was last seen (4/22/19) appears to be the date that his wife filed for divorce in Barrow County. She was the plaintiff, with separation occurring (sic? date doesn't make sense) "8/2019." His address in the court documents is listed as being in Statham, GA (also in Barrow County). On May 14, 2019, the court listed Peter as being unable to be served. Both parties were ordered to appear on September 16, 2020, but neither did, so the petition for divorce was dismissed.

For events on April 11, 2016, he was charged with family violence/criminal trespass for "during a verbal argument with his wife, RJ, he threw a video in the direction of the mantle, located in the family's living room, striking two picture frames, causing them to fall to the floor and shatter." He completed pre-trial intervention for this.

On September 14, 2018, his wife filed for an order of protection against him. He was not to approach the family home or come within 500 yards of them. The documents state (underlined filled in by wife on legal form), "On or about August til now, 2018, Respondent committed the following acts of family violence against Petitioner and/or the minor child/ren: He acts like on drugs again and Is drinking an I'm Afraid for my life when he in his rages he brake pitchurs pictures flips the sofas over throws full Beer cans at me. When asked about previous similar acts, the response is "2 yeas ago he got lock up for family violence an the court order a no contact on him so now he went crazy again so the Sheriff Dept. told me come file a TPO against him." She filed to dismiss the petition on October 5, 2018. He made some vague statements on his Facebook about "rock bottom," but there's no legal charges regarding drugs.

On September 22, 2018, he was charged with many, many offenses (sexual battery, child molestation, theft, disorderly conduct, obstruction of an officer, etc) that seem to boil down to a situation in which he grabbed a woman (not his wife)'s genitalia, in the presence of several children under the age of 16, also used profanity in front of said minors, grabbed a Mountain Dew out of someone's vehicle through the window, and ran from the officer. He was sentenced to 12 months, with 54 days to be served in jail, and the rest on probation. He was released in November 2018.

Looking at Gwinnett records, he was charged with Abandonment Motor Vehicle on August 15, 2019, but there are no details about where the vehicle was found, how long it had been there, etc. 2000 Honda Accord.

So, he had had quite a bit of personal drama leading up to his disappearance.
