Four or five shots of fireball, three or four beers a day was his daily consumption.
Honestly that doesn't even seem excessive to me having to deal with her everyday

Looks like DY had company in the courtroom possibly his mom (hopefully).
More than likely it was a victim advocate. I noticed a badge. Because of the nature of this case and because involves a juvenile it is closed to any witnesses outside of court appointed officials.

In all seriousness, we don't know his substance use before he met LS, but it's entirely likely he was self medicating. All the guy did was work, take care of the kids, and get berated and emotionally abused by a high maintenance drug addict who he didn't love anymore. Add to that, one of the kids was a six month old. I can't see LS doing feeds every couple of hours the first few months, can you? I'm betting DY was on bottle feeding and changing duty every single day.

That makes sense, thank you! :)

The alcoholic is the responsible one caring for the kids and holding down a job.

Proof that substance abuse isn't the be all and end all of not pulling your weight.
Very true, there are many functioning alcoholics and drug addicts.

I think LS is a hateful, selfish person who has never had to take accountability for any of her actions. Not from the baby daddy's or even her parents IMO. She comes across to me as very cold and uncaring about anyone or anything but herself.

Notice how loud and argumentative she gets when she is caught in a lie? Someone said bully (@ticya?) and I think that is a perfect description of her. A mean and selfish bully. Those poor children didn't stand a chance and little Simon seemed to bear the brunt of it. :(

GA v. Leilani Simon Day 4, Toddler in Landfill Murder Trial

Good morning! Another Day closer to justice for Quinton

  • #187
Good morning! I set my alarm for 12:30am my time, woke, looked at my watch and read ten to two, thought I'd missed an hour of testimony. It wasn't until I'd been up for fifteen minutes and couldn't find a stream that I realised that my watch had actually read ten past ten and I'd only slept for six hours. So, I played video games for a couple of hours and am powered by coffee, hoping I get through all of today's testimony without needing a nap.

Today, we should begin with Daniel Youngkin still on the stand.

Okay they've been going a few minutes, so I'm back a little so I don't miss anything. I should catch up once they have a break.

Daniel Youngkin still on the stand, his cross examination about to begin.

Hilliard clarifying the layout of the room. Where DY was sleeping in the room. Asking about him getting up, the car he drove. The length of the drive to work, whether he stopped on the way. Asking about his empties in the car.

DY getting grilled about LS and his recounting of the evening of the 4th. Defense attorney keeps referencing things DY "made up".

  • #191
Asking about when he moved to Savannah, if he paid rent.

Hilliard is asking him who did most of the child care, if it was shared. DY says it was mostly him.

Hilliard asking about his drinking. DY says he drank after work. Not before.

  • #192
DY admits that evening he drank and did a little of what was left of the cocaine. He denies getting or using percocet. When he had drugs he shared with LS. When she had drugs she did not share with DY.

  • #193
Being frank about his daily drink and drug use. About what he did and how he did it.

  • #194
Hiliard trying to establish the back patio door was unlocked and there was a lot of in and out of that door as a regular basis.

  • #195
Defense asking DY about texts exchanged by he and LS. DY rolls his eyes at one in particular. One in which he is unhappy and tired of dealing with her @$$hole moods and her mean @$$ kids and you get mad and dip (leave) and take [ish] from me.

Defense asks what Ish he is referring to in that message. He confirms he meant his money and his drugs and that her kids were not mean @$$es

later he sent "I am such a ducking idiot, I see it.

WTF 204 what is taking so long referred to LS not being back home yet. 204 was where LS would go to procure drugs for herself or both of them.

  • #197
LS texted him that he was the reason she was off to get more because DY had gone through both bags already.

  • #198
using LS texts to try to show DY was the heavier cocaine user. Making him read back those texts to try to chip at his credibility w the jury. Problem is LS is a liar so I hope they aren't falling for it.

  • #199
He's holding up much better under cross than I thought he might, given his emotion on the stand yesterday.

  • #200
Defense grasping at straws berating this poor guy. I'm hopeful that the jury can plainly see that.
