For some reason, Whitaker keeps Love and attorneys to argue about what can attorney Wright can and should testify about with the jury waiting in the back.

After the camera went off/court adjourned today in #YSL #YoungThug, defense attorney @doug_weinstein asked the judge if the defendants could be transported later each day. Right now they arrive at 5:45am hours before the courthouse is open. He said his request is so the defendants can be more rested, alert, aid in their defense, etc... Judge said the sheriff's office is understaffed but will see what she can do.

I’m behind today but Judge Whitaker told jurors and attorneys that she plans to have court on Election Day but will provide jurors with early voting times and locations (Oct. 15-Nov. 1) so they can go vote. She said they’ll probably adjourn early on Nov. 5.

Deputy DA Love is still questioning Sledge’s attorney Derek Wright.

Yesterday, Love was told to send an email to Wright, along with all attorneys and the court. It appears Love did not do that.

Wright said his client didn’t have the resources for a year-plus trial.

For some reason, Love has decided to question Wright for hours.

Love is asking Wright questions about the factual acknowledgements of the plea agreement Sledge signed after Sledge testified that there were parts of the acknowledgements that were not true.

Love is done questioning Wright, now attorney Doug Weinstein is questioning Wright. He first asked if Wright can hear him speaking in a normal voice and no need for him to yell or scream.

Wright testified he has no personal knowledge how the state came up with the factual acknowledgements in Sledge's plea agreement.

Love has begun to object to Adams questions about whether Wright knew why the state wanted to do the plea deal with Sledge.

Wright has spent hours on the stand talking about his representation of Sledge, who already took a plea deal, instead of the state presenting evidence against the defendants currently on trial. It will be up to the jury to determine if anything Wright said it's important.

"Next time I really would like for you to follow the instructions that I give you, please." Judge Whitaker to Prosecutor Love. Love was ordered by the judge to email Sledge's attorney, Derek Wright, cc all defense teams, and ask Wright to forward any emails between him and Love regarding Sledge's plea deal. She did not do that. She instead texted Wright without cc'ing everyone and then didn't see his email to her from last night, until court started this morning.

Attorney Wright testified that he has "no recollection of #8" on the plea agreement. In a previous draft, he said #8 wasn't in the plea, but he and his client signed off on #8 at the final plea. "How that number...I can only say we missed it.." #8 is Sledge agreeing that he personally knows that one or more #YSL associates committed the murder of Donovan Thomas. Sledge and his attorney now saying Sledge didn't agree to knowing that. Here is #8 being read by Love at the plea hearing. Today's clip of Wright's testimony in next tweet.

Here is Wright saying, "we missed it," in testimony today. What this all means is Sledge and his attorney both agree that Sledge did not agree to knowing that members of #YSL committed the Donovan Thomas murder and yet they both signed off on that in the plea.

Before the jury returns from lunch, attorneys argued over some of the questions Adams asked Wright regarding the state wanting really wanting go after Young 🤬🤬🤬🤬 rather than the other defendants.Love asked for Judge Whitaker to admonish Adams in front of the jury.

Whitaker ruled that the question by Adams about the state’s intention to go after Young 🤬🤬🤬🤬 was improper but told Love that admonishing Adams in front of the jury would just bring more attention to it so she admonished him without the jury present.

Adams argued he had a good basis to ask about the state’s focus on Young 🤬🤬🤬🤬. He alleged former DA prosecutor Lizzie Rosenwasser said the state was open to plea deals with all defendants except Young 🤬🤬🤬🤬.Rosenwasser left the DA’s office in 2013.

Wright explained that there were some acknowledgments that they didn’t agree with or weren’t correct but Sledge just wanted to get the plea deal done so they compromised on some of the wording of the factual acknowledgments.

Sledge was under the belief that he would be able to clarify/explain some of the factual acknowledgments that weren’t entirely correct but he didn’t really get a chance to during his testimony.

Seems that there were previous versions of the factual acknowledgements and then, in the last version, the state added line #8 and Wright admitted to missing it when Sledge took the plea deal in December 2022.

Wright testified that taking on the case and going to this trial would have bankrupted him.
