I am not aware of any rule that permits a judge to meet ex parte with a witness. See e.g. Arnau v. Arnau, 207 Ga. App. 696, 697 (Ga. Ct. App. 1993) (judge who met with expert presumptively prejudiced losing party even if testimony was cumulative).

How many times has he followed through? None
Glanville allowed Steel back into courtroom today 20 minutes after he was kicked out. Steel even got to put his tie and jacket back on.

Steel's wife, Colette Resnik Steel, an attorney herself, wrote in a notice late Monday that she is appealing her husband's criminal contempt finding to the Georgia Court of Appeals.

Colette Steel also asked for Steel to be released on bond while his appeal is decided.


Attorney Ashleigh Merchant, president of the @MYGACDL, said she will represent Steel in trying to obtain his release from custody."We’re not OK with this,” she said. “We’re not going to let this happen to our brother, who was simply doing his job.”
